USF Roll Call!

Now I'm Jealous…

My parents live 1hr from Tampa, and if I wasn't already coming down in July, I'd make the trip.

If we DONT have a decent turn out then we deserved to be mocked as a third rate fan base.

What is your definition of a decent turnout for this away game?

I think we have horrible turnouts for home games so my expectations are low for travel games.

We have bad turnouts for home games because 75% of students don't want to see FAU vs. North Texas or Louisiana Lafayette. Most of them have no idea who these schools are. Same goes for all sports we have. Ever notice how when the "Big" schools come to town the fans come out? Miami in baseball/basketball. North Carolina in baseball. USF in football.

I think a lot of people that are at FAU are from the Tampa area or have family/friends in that are and everyone knows how good USF's football team is

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

Re: USF Roll Call!

Agreed,

USF has become a known name after being ranked and they are in a AQ confrence.

I would say that if anything less then 1000 FAU fans show up it will be a dissapointment.

I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick @$$ and I'm out of bubble gum.

1000 sounds like a reasonable expectation.  Not sure that gets us any respect as a traveling fan base, but I think that's reasonable based on past experiences.

Now Im talking ACTUAL butts in the seats too.  I know for the bowl games weve "sold" over 2K in tickets but we all know we didnt have that many people travelling to those games.

For us having 1K travel to a game would be a big milestone to a out of town game.

How many have we had at FIU games do you think?

Re: USF Roll Call!

I disagree regarding the bowl games.  It's been a couple of years but I know for sure there was 2K in New Orleans.

I don't think FIU is a good comparison, I know we have fun beating up on FIU but many people don't go down there because FIU hasn't put much of a team on the field most years.

GO OWLS!

Re: USF Roll Call!

We will be bringing 40 to 50 people to this game. We live in Orlando, in the middle of the I 4 corridor. We are looking forward to a victory!" We will go bowling again in 2010."

I hear ya Capt.  My sister is a USF alumni, so my family and friends are pretty well split.  Good news is we have a couple of things going for us.

1) Our defense is supposedly improved.  I'll believe it when I see it, but it really couldn't have gotten any worse
2.  USF will still be learning the new system from Coach Holtz This could mean a rough transitional period for the Bulls, or not, who knows?
3.  BJ Daniels is (or was last year) very inconsistent.  He was amazing at the FSU game, but faltered and made some very serious freshman mistakes in most other games (Panicking, rushing passes, trying to be a hero and run/salvage plays instead of throwing the ball away).  Maybe he was coached on this stuff in the off season, but maybe not.  The kid is FAST, and has a lot of talent, but if he can't control it and/or trust his teamates, its useless.

FAU - We got Bowls!
