How about a throwback style uniform??

Not the most aesthetically pleasing, but it would turn some heads.

AND some stomachs ;D

All for an alternate look, but believe the real issue is $$$…

Afterall, we use worn practice gear…so doubt we have it in the kitty right now!

Honestly, the away Jersey's are my favorite the way they are.  I really don't care about uniform changes right now.  The little money we have is best spent on other more pressing issues (stadium, recruiting).  Besides, FAU's Jerseys are a throwback  style with the varsity stripes on the pads and it seems like the trendy thing now is for teams with money to revert back to a throwback styles so why mess with it?

I didn't ask if you cared.  I was just saying how it would be nice to have different variations.  We can add it to the list!  I believe many agree that Texas Tech's uni's looked great last night.  We all know that money is needed–I was just saying that variations is something that we should visit.

I've always thought it'd be cool to have red jerseys. Most schools have three different color jerseys anyway.

first off, in reference to just you (OWL4EVER) that was unnecessarily rude. he was simply giving his opinion on a……. message board. last time i checked message boards are 90% OPINIONS. chill out.

now, as for this thread, i absolutely LOVE our uniforms. the fact that we first fielded a team in 2001 yet stuck to traditional, varsity-striped uniforms is awesome. thank GOD we do not look like south carolina (with all the dizzy, unnecessary lines and blocks of color on their jersey), oregon (which obviously is the most hideous, eye-gauging uniform style in the history of sports) or cincinnati (only a person tripping on acid could design those hideous pants)

i hope our uniforms never change. however, if i was athletic director, i would add blue pants and red pants just to jazz us up a little, yet keep strict rules on how they could be worn:

i created this graphic this a while ago and showed it to the "powers-that-be" in the athletics department.  anyways, that's my 2 cents and my ideas for uniforms.

Hey Eric:
Can you send me that template?
I have some other ideas I would like to spend some time on.
BTW, when you showed this to upper management; did they show any interest?
They look really nice.

PS: I do like the Oregon uniforms. There is a concept behind it and not too many people can understand.
What is it that people don't like about those uniforms?
the wings?

GO OWLS.

Thanks for the visual on the different variations OwlEric–they look great.  As far as my comments on how Afterlifemobile wrote his reply–I thought his tone was very rude!  "I really don't care about uniform changes right now".  I was just trying to get a good discussion going and I just wanted to know how people felt about this topic.  Obviously many people feel that it would be nice (in the future) to have different looks.  Anyway, that's my two cents!

GO OWLS!

Re: Variations in Football Uniforms/Sample Alternate Uniforms

We were listed in a top 25 uniforms of college football a few years back, we're the "poor man's Auburn!" I love it!

Regarding Oregon, don't they let the players design the uniforms? I know they did a few years ago when they had that diamond plate look on their shoulder and thigh pads.

I do think some new color would be cool for an alternate jersey (I'm not a huge fan of the all white to be honest) but it is far down the list of priorities. We're practicing in pants that say Air Force on them.
