What are your predictions for FAU Football in 2012?

Well the fire should be close, with 30 new players looking to start or for at least some serious playing time. My point is that easily another 10 spring "starters" could hit he bench within a month (or much sooner!) of this new season.

Coach P. and staff do not have to nor should not have any favorites, especially from a 1-11 squad!  And if you still have that same lame attitude as last year, pack-up and go home now, you will NEVER see the field for me!

We have 2 very winnable games...then I think 2 conference games will come our way one against FIU of course

I'm thinking 4-8 overall, I'm not even going to try to guess at a conference record since the SBC is always unpredictable.  We should have one win with Wagner (I hope), and I think we could take 3 other teams from the belt, just not sure which ones.  Although I'd like to see us back in a bowl situation, I'd honestly be happy with a 4-8 season after last year, it would show improvement as well as room to grow.

Than there's that owlumni in me that says the hype of german will be fullfilled, our D will get tougher, and our recievers will have gecko feet for hands.  I think/hope Coach P's attitude has shown that we are a new team with new expectations.  There will be consequences for stupid acts and lack of effort.  Accountability was sorely lacking the last few years and I really hope CP and bring some back…….hard.

FAU - We got Bowls!

As an outsider looking in, I would say that four wins or more would be a good start - but only if the players are engaged, playing hard, executing the plays and generally giving everything they have.  If you see that kind of effort with four wins, it means Carl has it going the right way and building something good going forward.

When Turner Gill went to Buffalo, they were considered the worst team in the FBS.  His first year, they played with discipline, effort and heart and you could tell they were on to something.  Progress in year one would be great, a bowl in year two would be outstanding.

I think Carl Pelini is the kind of coach that can make that happen at FAU.  And if he does better than that in year one, that would be okay too!

I wonder if it's drinking the Kool-aid to think FAU can get back to a bowl in two years
but
it's definitely been done, especially in the Sun Belt.

Thanks Rick.  Found it on-line and thought it looked different, so I went with it.

GO OWLS!

3-4 wins maximum.  The offense run at the spring game was not impressive.  I also don't see all the new kids coming in for Fall gelling quickly enough.  D should be good enough.

In conference play, I will be happy with hard fought games that we don't get blown out in.  Also, some close losses would be good from a culture/development stand point teaching the kids to grind through it until the end.
