@SigEp77…earlier I said 6-6 , plus or minus one. I'm leaning more toward 4 now. The German "problem" has me backing down a little. I totally agree with the gelling statement and about the playing hard the whole game part.  Trust me on this…Coach P will not have players that do not play hard on every play. We will have a couple of tight games this year and if we could pull off a couple of shockers….who knows.

We are starting off with Wagner and MTSU before diving into the really challanging part of our schedule and this is what I just picked up on the MUTS.

We have two VERY winnable games to start the year off…after the run through UGA and Bama, we could very well be 2-2 and that's good by me.

There's no more Dwight Dasher. He was a game changer for sure. If German makes it onto campus, he can be our Dwight Dasher. He definitely stole some wins for them

I was in no way this optimistic when I looked at the schedule. However, going through game by game I put us at 6-6 with two games that could just as easily go to the opposing team. (This is the SBC and of course virtually every game is a toss up). My final prediction is worst case scenario 4-8 and best case scenario 6-6. Either way it is an improvement on last season.

If you could explain what this schedule is contingent on. For example, how do we score mopre points against fiu than against Wagner? Because the team jells more towards the end of the season? Also, how do we lose by ten to ULL when they have a much worse defense than fiu?

Note: all contingent on MG3 making it to campus and playing how we expect him too, and the other recruits too. Also contingent on our O-line vastly improving.

Aug 31    Wagner                (W 33-6)  MG3 is too much for them and our stifling defense stops them… they are also a bad FCS squad who we should trounce.

Sep 8  @M. Tenn. St.        (W24-6)  I think our defense is too much for them (speed and talent wise). And, this might sound weird, but I think we have our sh*t in order a lot better than them, at this point in time.

Sep 15  @Georgia                (L) They are too much O.

Sep 22  @Alabama        (L 40-something to 10-something) Their O is too much and D too strong.

Sep 29  North Texas        (W 24-23) This will be one of "those games". But, MG3 pulls it out.
Oct 13  @La.-Monroe        (W33-13) The Sun Belt realizes we are a legit squad as our D has too much speed and our O has too much MG3.

Oct 20  @South Alabama  (W17-6) Our O quiets down because of USA's speed. But our D can hold it down for us.

Oct 27  Troy                        (L 24-9) We get too cocky and end up losing after reeling off 3 straight W's.

Nov 3  @Navy                  (W21- 20) Why can't we beat them? We should be able to stop that stupid triple option and I doubt they will be able to stop MG3 and Co.

Nov 10  @W. Kentucky      (L20-13) WKU is vastly improved and we come in riding high after our win at Navy

Nov 16  FIU                        (W35-13) I'll admit, this might be part of a dream scenario. However, we kill fiu at home to send them off in fashion.

Dec 1  La.-Lafayette (L20-6) After riding high and killing fiu, we get out asses handed to us by the Ragin Cajuns.

So I have us at 7-5, going to a bowl, and we will see what happens there.

A few common themes you may have noticed:
- we will be anchored by the speed of our D coupled with the great coaching they will finally have.

- our O will be much better, but I still see our O-line struggling and carried by the arm of MG3. Short quick passes. And our running game will be bad due to the poor O-line. But running backs will be featured in the offense as both runners and receiuvers.

- Coaching and motivation will be huge. However, we are still the same FAU team that gets complacent, so for every big win there is a bad loss.

- The team will be much, much improved. We had some good players, and now have many more with some good coaching.

- They call me a dreamer.

It is contingent upon my intuition and long standing knowledge of FAU football. Also note that I had the cojones to put scores in instead of just calling wins and losses like previous posters. All of this is of course subject to change. Follow my weekly "Fearless Predictions" for the good stuff.

Seriously, it is based on having MGIII at QB. We start slow and the team needs to gel. That explains the low scoring offense against Wagner. A lot can be said for the emotion involved in the FIU rivalry. Strange things happen that can lead to better play than might be expected. That and I tend to be a real homer when it comes to playing FIU.

I love the optimisim from everyone. Realitisc I see a five hundred season, but an improve team means more people in the stadium to see how the team does. I dont think it will take long for the team to gel if people step up into the leadership role.
