My solace is that they'll be obsolete soon enough

Tom D. is laughing right now.
;D
We have five games left, so…Objectively, who can we beat?
My take:
Troy - L
Too much scoring potential with a new QB that can run AND throw based on last week's performance in relief. Accordingly, if Blakeney is smart, Robinson may not get the nod (pun intended). And they don't need a stellar D showing to shut us down either.
Navy - L
Ironically, even though we have a suspect run defense, if that is all we have to focus on 75% of the time, and given our LB crew, we may keep the defense off the field enough to keep it close.
WKU - L
Nope.
FIU - L
Much better than their record indicates. Only possible by Panther coaching meltdown via CRYSTALball, and some bounces our way.
ULL - L/W–
Maybe more progress plays out, and somehow we can slow down what is now a 404.5 yard per outing offense to the Owls' 312.
Hope I am WRONG though!

I dont see another win this year.
FIU maybe because its REALLY tough to come back from a meltdown season like they are having. Plus they have some devestating last minute losses too.
WKU will kill us and I think ULL will also. Not sure about Navy and Troy.
I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick @$$ and I'm out of bubble gum.

Aug 31 Wagner (W 24-10)
Sep 8 @M. Tenn. St. (W17-14) +/-
Sep 15 @Georgia (L 45-10)
Sep 22 @Alabama (L 42-13)
Sep 29 North Texas (W 28-20)
Oct 13 @La.-Monroe (W17-14)
Oct 20 @South Alabama (W21-10)
Oct 27 Troy (L 31-14)
Nov 3 @Navy (L30-10)
Nov 10 @W. Kentucky (L24-20)
Nov 16 FIU (W28-27) +/-
Dec 1 La.-Lafayette (L27-17)
I was in no way this optimistic when I looked at the schedule. However, going through game by game I put us at 6-6 with two games that could just as easily go to the opposing team. (This is the SBC and of course virtually every game is a toss up). My final prediction is worst case scenario 4-8 and best case scenario 6-6. Either way it is an improvement on last season.
GO OWLS!!!
What was I thinking??!! That was horrible on my part.
:-[ :-[ :-[
I was thinking that we would have German, but to be fair, Wilbert has exceeded expectations.
GO OWLS!!!

My prediction is that the scoreboard operator will not know how to work the scoreboard….I also predict 3 to 5 wins. 3 would be acceptable improvement from last year, 4 would be a good season, 5 would be an amazing accomplishment and hope for the future. I also predict the team will get better every week (that didn't happen last year), I also predict the players won't quit this year. I predict the future is good.
Remember the one thing about the Sun Belt is that generally their is not consistency from one season to the next. The team that is good one year, is not good the next year.
The bottom of my prediction feels unreachable…but I still think the team will improve each week. The team that played Saturday compared to the team that played Wagoner, which one is better? I am still holding out hope that we will get one more win, maybe 2 before it is all done. I am pretty confident that unlike last year there will not be any quitters on the roster the rest of the season. And if there are, cut them. We don't need any cancer on this team.

This team improves every week! Looking through these post a lot of people predicted .500 or 5 win season…I have a lot of hope for a strong finsih for 5 wins. We win our last two games at home and we will be .500 in our home stadium since it opened. Perfect place to be to start a winning tradition at home next season!

Great points and so glad I was wrong about the WKU game - D played pretty damn good today. Only 3 TD's allowed and less than 300 yards in an away game to a bowl eligible team!
