Re: WHERE WERE YOU GUYS?
Either way, alums "typically" don't want to go hang out with undergrads in that sort of environment so that's why OwlTV didn't rake in the cash this weekend. We already support this school financially in many ways, I didn't feel like I HAD to be there.

Re: WHERE WERE YOU GUYS?
A lot of us on here are Alumni and going to an event on campus for a watch party would be awkward. Also, be assured that there would never be a justin.tv feed (from anyone here) if an FAU site had a fee based live feed (~$5). There wasn't a justin.tv feed this past week because this team sucks and it wouldn't be worth it.
Keep up the good work though and be assured that if we were 6-2 instead of 2-6 the turnout would be alot better…fairweather fans are a fact of life in sofla

Watch Party was a success as far as the video streaming portion of the game went but I wonder why you would post a stream of the game illegally instead of showing up at campus and watching on 3 giant video screens.
Seems like you undermined the event by posting the stream!! I know your excuse will be for people outside the area but still doesn't fly as far as I'm concerned.
I wonder what CSTV will think of you sharing their link for FREE?
OWL TV put in a lot of work to do this broadcast and could have used all of your support. If you made it to the event thank you!! If you chose to stay home because of the $5 fee tell me what your bar tab is next time at Duffy's! Your cheapness and wining will only prevent these events in the future!!
THERES NO WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IN THE FUTURE WITHOUT FINANCIAL AND PERSONAL SUPPORT! INSTEAD YOU CHOSE TO STAY HOME AND CRY ABOUT NOT BEING THE FIRST TO KNOW.
Way to go!!!
Shut up, honestly…I've heard enough excuses from FAU all season. FAU has gotten enough money from me in out of state tuition. The way the team has played this season they aren't worth 5$ to watch…sorry but it's true.

Re: WHERE WERE YOU GUYS?
I'm glad we turned what seemed to be a negative conversation into a positive conversation with some good suggestions for next time.
I give a lot of credit to OwlTV, SG and all other parties involved, and I hope they continue to do it. It's a unique —- and MAY BE the only student-run, student-produced broadcast of away football games on television. Fans on this board have talked about having watch parties in the past and gathering to watch the game together. I'm glad that OwlTV figured out a way to try it for the students.

Re: WHERE WERE YOU GUYS?
I went back and re-read my orginal email regarding this event and wanted to share additional information on what would make it better, Etc.
In any marketing effort, I think FAU needs to decide what their target audience will be. When I looked at my email, the subject line was: Owl Club Watch Party. When you read the body of the text, you quickly see that this had absolutely nothing to do with the Owl Club which leads one to believe it is only for students and thus causes a lot of confusion on whether you want to attend and feel out of place.
If they truly want everyone involved at the event, they could have sent emails targeted to students, a different one targeted to the Owl Club, and a third targeted to Alumni Assoc. members. Each one could clearly state that students, owl club members and alumni are all welcome. Then in the body of the specific emails to each let that target audience know what's in it for them. Students may attend for different reasons than Owl Club members. etc.
It's simple really, they just need to decide who they want to attract and how they want to attract them.
With that said…here is the email I received with the subject line: Owl Club Watch Party (you can judge for yourself why I had no desire to attend) and (with this in mind…to OwlTV–keep up the good work, things take time to fall into place…and to smitty–thanks for being involved to try to make things better. Great strides are being made, no doubt):

Re: WHERE WERE YOU GUYS?
I'm not involved with this process, nor was I involved with making this happen.
I simply tried (and was somewhat successful I guess) with turning the topic from what went "wrong" to what "can be improved," and tried to solicit comments so that next year when we plan watch parties for alumni, we have some additional feedback.
The negatively on the board gets to me, so I tried to take this topic and make it positive.
