I know its the off season and all but this thread is like beating a dead horse after its already been shot five times.

First off, I'm an FAU alum and an Owl sports fan.

On paper, FIU had the better recruiting class: 22 recruits total, including (1) 4-star and (5) 3-star ranked recruits.

On paper, FAU had 25 recruits, including (2) 3-star ranked recruits.

So yes, ON PAPER, FIU had the better recruiting class for 2009.

However, each team's recruiting needs are different from one another, so my question is, why are we comparing FAU's and FIU's recruiting class? Recruits don't win games, teams do. That is why an overwhelming majority voted "decide it on the field" in the poll.

The real question should is… How does a head coach, who's record is 6-18 (5-10), been shutout twice, has not won a conference title, has not reached a bowl game, has not had a winning season, has not defeated their rival, and lost control of his team during a brawl against the Hurricanes…manage to recruit anyone? 

FIU fans, I know the brawl comment was a cheap shot, but seriously…anyone who is willing to play for a head coach (Cristobal) like that, isn't the brightest crayon in the box, and therefore not someone FAU would want to recruit.

Wasn't that (former FIU coach) Strock, not Cristobal? I thought that was the straw that broke the camel's back…
