Do you really want a schedule like Tulsa's? So what if we played that schedule and won all those games! There are plenty of Div 3 schools that are undefeated that we never hear about. What the diff between Tulsa and the Div 3 schools!?! Not much…they both play the same schools. Besides, had we actually beat Texas and MSU we would have recieved a ton of recognition and thus raise more money. I think our schedule is weak this year. It is certainly not as tough as last year.
Tulsa doesn't play the same schools as D-III programs. What are you talking about?? As for our schedule being weak. That is a joke. Look at the combined records of Texas, MSU, and Minnesota and tell me we are playing a weak schedule.
GO OWLS!!!

Well how come NO SunBelt schools play a schedule like that is my question. I dont think Tulsa's program attendance and fund raising wise differ greatly. You are telling me that when FAU averages 24k attendance and can raise $2.4 million dollars for the entire sports department we can stop playing OOC games like Texas?
We averaged less than 16k last year…
And, it doesnt matter because we are no longer able to play as many gurantee games now anyway thanks to the SBC front office…
Anyway, our schedule is pretty much par for the course amongst other teams, wouldn't you agree??
FIU:
KU, Iowa, USF
UNT:
KSU, Tulsa, LSU
Troy:
LSU, OSU, OKST
ULM:
AU, ARK, Tulane
ULL:
Southern Miss, KSU, Kent Sate, Illinois
To name a few…….

In the future, I personally would like to see us schedule no more then 2 money games, 1 I-AA game, and one game against a CUSA, MAC, WAC team a season.

I agree…would be better overall…
AND, 6 home games…this 4 home games plus a drive to neutral Dolphin Stadium is a joke.

Its basically 2/3 of our games on the road…that is tough to overcome itself.

Once we are getting all of our cash from our own stadium + increasing attendance there is no reason we can't schedule FAMU, Rice, Ohio, and Alabama as our OOC. One is a sure loss, another should be a sure win, and the other two are in the air.

They got it down to one money game…thats what makes all the difference. One of their OOC is FCS, another one is North Texas, and last one is mediocre to weak New Mexico. We can't afford to do that unfortunately…which is why I support alcohol at the on campus stadium and the requisite rights we can sell. Mmmm Beer.

Not 100%, but I think the NCAA rules prohibit any on campus stadium from selling alcohol at an on-campus stadium.

Yeah we talked about this a little while back… I remember someone saying that the NCAA highly recommended no aclohol sales but it wasn't a strict line.
In any case, FAU's not going to sell beer at the stadium. They're not that ambitious/daring, which may be for the best.
