I know, but it angers me every year….

Its like Christmas morning though….I mean FIU and Troy know all their verbals already.  Verbals change.  Howard has a bunch of verbals he just doesnt tell anyone, and tells them not to verbally commit unless they mean it.

So this spring we get Christmas when all these names we have never heard get released and put on our list and we are happy, instead of scratching names off of a list like FIU will be doing.

I know Howard can't say anything but there are a lot of recruits out there who have announced to the media that they're given verbals to this and that school. Why aren't there any doing this for FAU?

I don't believe he's trying to "hide" anyone.

Relax, you won't find many FL recruits committed to the Chippewas this fall.  We have moved to Maryland!!
Of course our coaches were working FL last week  ;)  We are +20 verbals for this class, so their isn't much room left.  I do feel for you with all the northern teams sliding in and out of FL.  Gives you that ripped feeling.  We have to deal with USC et al, coming into Michigan for 1 top recruit per year, leaving little D1 skill talent for the 5 D1 teams in state.

So, this year you can relax.  We aren't recruiting players in FL.  We'll play you for your Cheerleaders!!

I'm sorry don't mean to offend anyone, but have you seen our Cheerleaders? lol…. They can take them!

That's not the way it works.  Recruits are free to talk all they want to some of the recruiting sites….Actually, according to AD Pete Garcia, FIU has a handful more  non-binding "oral commitments' that the ones that are known and listed by rivals and scout sites.  It's not FIU coaches talking about it (or any other school btw), since they are not allowed by the NCAA to mention or talk about kids and/or the names they are recruiting.

BTW, I remember reading Howard S. saying after last season something like it was a totally different recruiting landscape and he was considering (or having to change) recruiting strategies.  For whatever it's worth, I've seen a lot more recruits holding FAU offers early on…much more so than last season.   I'm sure FAU has some commitments already.  It's just that neither rivals.com, nor scout.com, nor the local newspapers have reported one commitment to FAU on their sites.

BTW, FIU had only 1 recruit, whose name had been reported as committed to FIU, who changed his mind…instead choosing FSU in mid December.  For example, we knew T.Y. Hilton was between Ole Miss, West Virginia, and FIU, because of reports in the websites and The Miami Herald….of course, they stayed with FIU.  Not too much scratching names off last year.  However, I do agree, that kids' verbals changes happen to ALL universities, including to FAU.

We only have a few real fine cheerleaders.....the dance team on the other hand... ;D
