I'm looking at the schedule and thinking a 3-9 season.Posted On: Oct 11th 2015, 2:05 PM #350382
It's strange to say that a 3-9 season is an optimistic view. For the most part, we haven't been winning the game against the weaker opponents that we are supposed to win… like this one. Our one win wasn't a commanding win either. I'd be surprised if we won another game this season. Hate to be like that but I just don't see the team making any real improvement week to week.

Lets do what Tulsa ans B.G. did. Lets get one of the offensive minds that they mass produce at Baylor.Posted On: Oct 11th 2015, 7:43 PM #350416
^This.
Points win games. We have good quarterback recruits, we have access to Florida speed, we should have a great offense.

Guys, I hate to say it but i've given up on this program. I thought after the resignation of President Saunders things around the university would change. It hasn't. The leadership is still terrible.Chun sucks, Partridge sucks. We're lucky to even be in a respectable conference right now that we don't deserve to be in. I will continue to support the political science department but as far as athletics, I'm tuning out football. It's really hard to be a proud owl right now. We've played 6 years of really bad football and the future doesn't look good with Charlie still around. I've never seen a program give away as many games as this one has the past 3 years which leads me to believe no culture change is coming soon. Partridge is a child in a grown man's profession.Posted On: Oct 14th 2015, 9:58 AM #350530
I know how you feel. Over the course of the past 15 years, I have had many of those similar thoughts.
Here's how I have had to cope with it over the years:
I think back to when I went to FAU and we did not have a football team. I think about when I became an alumnus, and Saturdays rolled around and I didn't have a team from my alma mater to cheer on. I remember the feeling I got when they announced we were getting a football team, and what it felt like on that day we played our first game against Slippery Rock.
I continually remind myself of this and tell myself: We have football and one day it will get better.
That's the only thing I have in my power to do. But I do not fault anyone for not hanging on at this point. It's difficult.

Just look at Texas.
FAU should have had someone on the staff who they told this job is yours when Howard is done could have been smoother IE Brohm

Buffalo and Temple were the worst teams in the country at one time. Temple actually got kicked out of the Big East Conference for lack of competitiveness. They're better now and thank God they had a few fans that stuck it out. Temple beat Penn State this year and is 5-0.
Kelly has plans for FAU and competitive sports, particularly football, are part of the plan. Kelly I'm sure has an eye on things.

I know I have said this many times, but we are still paying for letting Howard stick around for two years to long its amazing how a lame duck coach can just set back a program.

1. Brohm wouldn't have Doughty, so not sure where the "success" was going to come from without a rebuild.
2. Charlie ran everyone off - idiot move - not Brown's fault, and he could be at 4-1 right now.
3. Next time you see Howard, be sure and go and introduce yourself, then tell him he is a lame duck face to face, as you crap your pants.

+1 The lows make the highs better. We will get through this storm and things will be better in the future.
