I don't know if this tops the loss to Valdosta State…but it's right up there. This was so fustrating. The problem to me isn't that this team had expectations (really, I never saw the team doing much this season given how bad the D had become last year and the inexperience on the O-line). No, to me the biggest issue here is that FAU should never lose a home game to a team like UNT, who came in such terrible condition. This was a team that was reeling. They had nothing going for it, and yet they came into Lockhart and pounded us…and the Owls didn't adjust.
We just lost the easiest game on our schedule. I was there and I'm still not real sure how it happened. Oh well…the stadium construction will start soon. At least that will be fun to watch this year!
The one positive we might get out of this is exactly what happened when we lost to Valdosta St. It' provides that constant reminder that you cannot take a break. We walked into that game against Val St. after a huge win, we thought we had it sewn up, and they smacked us in the mouth. To be honest, that was a worse loss IMO because they beat us so handily.
The silver lining after that loss, we turned on the gas after that and practically won out the rest of the year 2003 final ranking in the nation of #4.

The fact is, we didn't take care of business hopefully it's a reminder….come ready to play or get beat.
