Wyoming is official according to ESPN.

MAC schedule released; Wyoming to play FAU

March 26, 2009 2:58 PM

Posted by ESPN.com's Graham Watson

The Mid-American Conference has released its league schedule confirming several nonconference scheduling changes that have been speculated the past month.

Bowling Green dumped its game against Wyoming on Oct. 3 and will play a conference game against Ohio that date.

Wyoming now will play Florida Atlantic on Oct. 3.
Bowling Green's nonconference schedule consists of Troy (Sept. 3), at Missouri (Sept. 12), at Marshall (Sept. 19) and home against Boise State (Sept. 26). Boise State was originally scheduled to play Toledo, but that game will be played in 2011 to accommodate Toledo's game against Colorado.

Miami (Ohio) also released its 2009 nonconference schedule, which includes games against Kentucky (Sept. 5) at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati, at Boise State (Sept. 12), against Cincinnati (Oct. 3), and at Northwestern (Oct. 10). The RedHawks have games at Western Michigan and Kent State on Sept. 19 and 26, respectively.

Akron, the only Mid-American team that had an open date, plays at Penn State (Sept. 5), against Morgan State (Sept. 12), against Indiana (Sept 19), and at Syracuse (Oct. 24).

I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick @$$ and I'm out of bubble gum.

And Wyoming's own site, now:

"In addition to their Sept. 19 road trip to face Colorado, Wyoming will travel to Boca Raton, Fla., to play Florida Atlantic on Oct. 3 in UW's one other non-conference road game. The Florida Atlantic game replaces a previously scheduled road game at Bowling Green on the same date. The game versus Florida Atlantic will be the first game in a two-game home-and-home series with the Owls. The second game of the series will be played in Laramie between Florida Atlantic and UW on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014."

On a side note:

Best wishes, Wyoming, on us on a plane to travel there in 2014!

You mean to tell me that the Owls don't have the "nads" to come to the High Plains like Virginia, Ole Miss, and soon Texas?  Tsk, tsk, tsk…

Not so much "nads" but opportunity for betterment…they will evaluate at a later point and time as to whether it is wothwhile to do it…

but no, we are not on the level of those teams at present talent or money wise…we need to keep the travel costs down as much as possible…and unless getting paid, make the game an opportunity of some sorts - which is why you are coming here this year…your coach aint no dummy…he wants to tap the SFL recruting landscape just like the rest of them :)

someone correct me if i am wrong here, but i believe that would be the second furthest we would have travelled since inception…HI being first…and that was at a time when we had everything to gain by playing them as a start-up IAA team (a huge paycheck, and the upset potential) and nothing to lose…

The return game to your place would simply be a contractual "obligation"…….

But, hey, if you guys light the world ablaze around that time and become a major force in the WAC, then my current "opinion" is fire kindling! ;D

Yes, we are terrified to play Wyoming at Wyoming, but we are willing to play Florida at Florida, Texas at Texas, South Carolina at South Carolina, Nebraska at Nebraska, Oklahoma State at Oklahoma State, Kansas State at Kansas State, Minnesota at Minnesota, Clemson at Clemson, Louisville at Louisville, etc, etc.  I believe F_O to mean (not to speak for him) that the game is so far out that the chances are low that it will happen in the future.  Both teams needed something on the schedule for now.  It's a great matchup in 2009, but maybe not in 2014.  Don't take that to mean anything against Wyoming.

My appologies, I should have "TIC" my comments…  I understand all the factors and it is a ways away.  But, I do hope the game comes about because I think I would be a good for both teams.  Who knows what 2014 might bring?  If we get the improvements we're hoping for with this new coaching regime, both the Cowboys and Owls could be potential "BCS Busters" by then.  If that were the case, the game could take on a "must play" aspect and gain some national attention.  Besides, the MWC has it's own sports network, MTN, so having the Owls in Laramie would bring more attention from the East Coast, and hopefully viewers, to our network.
