2012 Midnight Madness - "Live" Coverage & Photos

We're set up courtside here at the Burrow with around 20 minutes to go until Midnight Madness kicks off.

It should be much more interesting this year because we'll see some game atmosphere, as opposed to last time when so few people could make enough dunks to make the dunk contest enjoyable. :)

Except the the cheerleaders, the crowd is pretty much non-existent. perhaps the students are not being allowed in yet? I know there's a T-shirt give-away, so there should be a good crowd.

The D.J. music sure is good.

Stay tuned for more commentary and photos …

The lower level student side is pretty much full now. Some lucky folks are getting nice sandwiches and fixings out in the lobby. The place filled in nicely around 8 p.m. as hundreds of students worked their way through a long line to get free T-shirts and food.

It has begun with the introduction of the scrimmage players. I assume they're intramural guys?

The lower level is now filled as the intramural game goes on to the beat of club music. Howard Schnelleberger, Athletic Director Pat Chun and President Mary Jane Saunders are working the house.

Well, these are players, but judging by their attire, they may not be taking the court for any serious "action"?

The cheerleaders just offered up a nice routine and the crowd showed its appreciation. Men's team coach Mike Jarvis is making the rounds and pressing the flesh.

We're now in some foul shooting contests for students.
