The Owls knocked off Lynn 68-53 in exhibition action on Saturday.

Notables

  • Ronald Delph led all scorers with 18 points and tied for the game high with seven rebounds.
  • William Pfister and Jailyn Ingram also had seven rebounds for the Owls.
  • Amir Smith came off the bench to score 10 points and grab six rebounds.
  • Payton Hulsey had six rebounds, four steals and four assists.
  • After shooting just 34% as a team in the first half, the Owls shot 55.6% from the field after the break.

Seems like the Lynn game is a good indicator of how the rest of the season will go.

FAU Men’s Basketball Cruises Past Edward Waters 91-59


·         Gerdarius Troutman led all scorers with 23 points, tied his career highs with six rebounds and four steals.
·         Jailyn Ingram scored 18 points to go along with four rebounds and two assists.
·         Anthony Adger posted 15 points and a game high five assists.
·         Ronald Delph tallied just six points, but grabbed a career high 14 rebounds and a pair of blocks.
·         The Owls nearly doubled up the Tigers on the boards, pulling down 46 rebounds compared to 26.

OWLS WIN!

#FAU struggles early against NAIA Ave Maria, but killed any hope of an upset in the second half en route to a 91-54 beating. Owls but outpaced the Gyrenes 60-25 in the second half. Local lad Justin Massey has a career high 24 points while shooting a stellar 66% FG.

Notables

·         Ronald Delph just missed a double-double, tallying 16 points and eight rebounds.
·         Jailyn Ingram registered 11 points.
·         Gerdarius Troutman tallied 10 points, four steals and two rebounds.
·         The Owls shot 77.4 percent from the field in the second half, including 86.9 percent (20-23) from two-point range.
·         Payton Hulsey came off the bench to dish out eight assists.
·         FAU scored 91 points for second home game in a row.

A second straight career high 31 points from Justin Massey helped FAU to a 93-75 win over Bethune-Cookman on Saturday night.

With the victory FAU (4-3) is above .500 for the first time this season.

Massey scored 25 points in the first half, as the Owls built a 29-point lead at the 5:29 mark of the period.

BCU (4-4) fought its way back to within eight at 73-65 with less than nine minutes left in the game.

The Owls responded with a 10-2 run to push the lead back to 16 before BCU narrowed the margin to 10.

Gerdarius Troutman then nailed a three to seal the win for FAU.

Game Notes

· Massey’s 31 points was the first 30-point game since Pablo Bertone scored 34 against UAB on Feb. 8, 2014.
· FAU scored a season high 93 points. It was the third time this season that the Owls have scored at least 90 points.
· Gerdarius Troutman had 19 points and pulled down a career-high five rebounds.
· Ronald Delph had another solid performance, registering 13 points and nine boards.
· Jailyn Ingram and Anthony Adger each tallied 11 points, giving FAU five players in with double figure scoring.

FAU will next travel to Florida Gulf Coast for a mid-week tilt on Tuesday, December 5th. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.

Basketball is (quietly?) having themselves a 4-game win streak right now but we'll have to see if they can carry it into conference play. Hopefully they can turn some heads in January.
