I wont knock the decision from Mj's part, but if he stumbles out of the gate or looses some recruits i will look at the decision again.

F_O it wasn't directed towards anyone personally just in general, wasn't trying to offend anyone. I am saying MJ can recruit as well, while we will miss Balado it's not going to be as bad as some people think thats what I meant.

IF and only IF the recruiting boards are even close in their evaluations of talent, Riley would be the best talent recruited to FAU.  He may come or he may see an opportunity at a more "prestigious" basketball school.  And if Royster goes, and I hope he doesn't, suddenly Sutton becomes a 40 minute man, but as you say it is all speculation.  I just thought that MB might have a better "hold" on these 2 players, which would have made him a valuable asset at least for another year.

I saw this move coming.  Of course Jarvis wants to form his own staff, but more than that, in case things don't go as well as planned right away, do you really think he wants to look down the bench and see the guy that the players and a good number of fans wanted to be head coach?

good point.  but looking on the other side, at 63 he has 4-5 (maybe just this contract) to do 3 things:  establish FAU as a BB powerhouse in SBC, win his 100 games to join Lefty in immortality, and pull a Bobby and leave the team with his son as HC. Prudence might dictate that time, not Balado is the pressing issue for MJ, so he wants to come out of the chute fast.

The only conclusion I can draw is that all players have committed to return, rendering Balado as a good, but not essential element in MJ's mind.  That being accepted as true, MJ needs to bring on line a staff that knows his system NOW so they can hit the road running.

Tough break for Balado, but he is young and dedicated and should pop back up very quickly.

i think fiu would be a great fit for mike now.....he still has some ties to the school, and the exsisting coaching staff there......and it would give him the chance to get revenge on Jarvis atleast 2x a year!
