Re: ESPN says we've signed...

Alvin is on the roster for Chipola CC (where Brent Crews played)…

Mayben originally signed with Syracuse in 2005-2006, but did not meet SAT requirments to be accepted…he then went to prep, and resigned with UMASS…not sure if he played for them in 2007-2008…

BUT, the late period hasn't even started yet…its a week away…

And i highly doubt we would sign one, let alone TWO PG's given our need in the post…plus we have three already that dont have academic issues to boot:

Nwoji
Holley
Hall

Nwoji and Holley are proven…so, don't see the need?

Although Mayben appears (based ont he offers he received from Cuse and Mass) to be a very solid PG…

Behiem always has a good lead man…

You consider Holley to be proven?  I dont think he has proven himself at all…he played a little as a freshman and didn't play very well.  Nwoji is going to be a senior, probably need somebody to come in as a freshman to learn the system.  Hall doesn't seem like a prized recruit from what I have read, would be a good idea to bring in another PG to compete with him.

Yes…IMO, Holley is proven…he's a very solid PG…and he can shoot the three…

See the big picture here…Holley is a play maker…he has skills that others DONT have in our conference…hes lightning quick and he can create…if you truly look around the SBC and size up his skill set, you brush the Freshman immaturity away, and se what we have here - a very talented PG…

He was used to being THE MAN in HS…when i spoke to him, he said that was the biggest mistake he made upon playing here…he has to be more comfortable with the players around him…and trust in their skillsets as well…

Herer are his stats…you decide:

16 games in 2006-2007…started 8…shot .40% from the floor…shot .387% from beyond the arch…FT 78%…and last but not least:

Assist to turnover ratio almost TWO TO ONE…

Which is what you want a PG to do - distribute the ball…

On Hall:

Not going to open that can of worms again…its been mulled over and over…some have said some good things about him though…i personally am banking on Rex's confidence in him to offer him the chance to play here…

I think the big picture is that Holley hasn't stepped on the court in two years and has never played in the SunBelt….just dont agree in the least that he is a proven player.  He is coming off a serious injury and has football as a first priority, dont see how you could count on that guy to run your team if your Rex Walters…kid misses tons of practice in the beginning of the season due to football so I am not sure how he will get comfortable with the players around him anyway.

i can definitely agree with you you that…and they are all teachable elements…

BUT ill want to add this:

You can teach  fundamentals…

You can not teach:

Athleticism
Speed
Agility
Court Sense

His knee is in great shape from what he said…

Anyway, im still waiting for the big news from Owl Insider that he is off the team to be validated…

IF that is true, this will all be mute…unfortunately!
