FAU fans behavior exposed

Smitty as for the difference between the Prowlers and Rexies, last i checked we (sexy's and Rowdies) get no money from student gov. and are 100% personally funded groups of fans….

Phil - I am well aware that Rexies and Rowdy's are not funded through SG. But a while back, when the board was critising the prOWLers, one of the comments was that the prOWLers can't chant "ref sucks" and everything. I was just stating that since y'all did it, the school really can't do anything about it. But if the prOWLers did it, since they are a reconginzed SG funded group, there could have been consequences.

That's all.

I think it's great that we got press, even if it was bad press. It's just upsetting to see that some people were coming down really hard on Jay - no matter how much people may disagree with his opinion.

Just stop with chanting the "F" word PLEASE.  Not only is it way over the top it's childish

Other than that…Have Fun!

Dusky,
just like WPierso3 said the regulars at the game weren't the ones who were dropping F-Bombs and flipping people off. We would NEVER do that. There are a lot of families and kids around and it's just not necessary. All season long we have been taunting the other team without cursing, original or not we (Sexy Rexies/Rowdy Rex's) never use foul language (unless you consider sucks to be a bad word).

There were a few fans in the front with their chests painted who were yelling at the other teams mothers and yelling F-U. As for Jay it's over it's done with, I can't speak for anyone else but I don't particularly care anymore about that whole situation.

Like it was stated before I hope the Rowdy's and the Sexies don't get a bad name because of the people that were sitting near us. Anyone who goes to the next game when there's probably only 200 people there will see the difference and will see that it wasn't us who was yelling that stuff

Either they are regulars or not, they are wearing your shirts and standing with you.  If you saw this going on as well as everyone else did, you should have stopped them then.  It would've meant more to them to hear it from you than any of us talking about it on this message board.

I disagree, though.  The rowdy rexies main guys were flipping people off, throwing their shirts on the court, etc.

It's not an excuse.

The FIU board will belittle anything they can about FAU. There seems to be a few over there that are fair but for the most part, most will not miss an opportunity to bash FAU. If one of the FAU basketball players showed up with a dirty shoe lace, there probably would be 20 or 30 posts over there bashing FAU for having such sloppy basketball team and as such is a reflection of the whole university. They would blow it up and make it seem much worse then it really is.

We are experiencing a bit more success than they are with all of our teams and I think that bothers a few of them. So take the criticism with a grain of salt.

I know I am opening the door since we poke fun at them but you won't see any posts on here slamming FIU for being a bad college or blowing things up way out of proportion.  The "Orange Brawl" did provide great topic to discuss.

I think your generalizations are grossly exxagerated and wrong, particularly the success on athletic fields comment you made.  I agree that some fans, like in ALL teams' boards, would find eventhe most miniscule thing to try and discredit the rival team.  However, most of what's gone over at FIU's board is just stating what  happened over there at The Burrow, just the same way a totally un-biased writer, and some posters over at this very , same board criticized such behavior by a group of your fans at the game.   Just look at this thread by your own fans .  And, btw, while I think it was in bad taste and classless, I agree it's not a huge thing by itself (unless it's a repetitive issue), and should be put to rest, because it is getting to be blown a bit out of proportion.

Additionally, I don't think you can say, and you are wrong to say, "we are experiencing a bit more success than they are with ALL of our teams and I think that bothers a few of them".  That, my friend, is just not true or based in facts.  It is obviuosly true in football, and some other sports, but not ALL.  I could tell you a number of sports that the results are clearly the opposite of that (this season or in the history of the series) and a number of sports where success could be measured only depending on which arguments you bring in order to make your point,  and which fan of which sport talks about that… meaning they are pretty much the same.  Hardly a totally one-sided affair.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way, as I'm saying all of this with the upmost respect, but it is what I think.

Re: FAU fans behavior exposed

When I said "ALL" teams, I was not limiting it to just basketball. What was on my mind, within the last year, is a football conference championship, a soccer conference championship, a softball conference championship and a swim and dive team conference championship. I should include the 3 baseball victories over FIU. All within the last year. And of course the 3 basketball victories this time last year. Maybe I should have said some sports.

Granted I don't visit the FIU board too often, but when I do, I see bashing go beyond sports. I see "Find Another University" quite often. I do see someone show up to retort. Looks like FAU people. I see other remarks about the quality of the school. The campus.  I don't leave remarks over there. Thats your board. You can post what you want. I am bringing to the attention of people over here that I BELIEVE there is some denial over there that a university as bad and pathetic as FAU could defeat or do better than FIU. There was some concern that the people on the FIU board were laughing at the bad press about FAU. There is nothing to be concerned about. That was my point.

Re: FAU fans behavior exposed

So they threw shirts on the court.. AFTER the game was over big deal, I don't see why everyone is flipping out for… No one was harmed, no one was even on the court. I agree that the F bombs weren't necessary and are offensive but everyone is flipping out over shirts throw on the court when no one was on the court and the game was over and over a finger, literally a finger!

Nothing was thrown on the court during the game or while players were on the court where someone could have gotten hurt, so what's the big deal? How's that being a bad fan? Are Duke fans bad fans because they threw shirts on the court, are other schools fans bad fans because they rush the court when their school upsets someone?

No one wearing our shirts was dropping F Bombs, if the Rowdy Rex's or the rest of the Sexy Rexie's want to flip people off that's their prerogative whether I agree with it or not. The unruly fans yelling F them up on the Defense chant and ones yelling at people's mothers were the ones with no shirts on, but you guys can believe what you want, I've already stated my case.

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

Re: FAU fans behavior exposed

I just happen to think it's interesting that you all are saying all press, including bad press, is good. But whenever the Post writes something about FAU that isnt 100% positive or adds the Davenport situation to a story everyone freaks out and says "OMG the Post is bashing FAU! Stop subscribing to it. This is bad press!"

Im sorry but I dont think being known as a school with rude fans can be considered a good thing. Just my 2 cents.

This board generally changes their mind depending on the mood. Numerous people have said things and then gone against their original thought several times this year. Although that is human nature and most everyone does it.

Re: FAU fans behavior exposed

actually come to think about it, i think someone else has thrown something on a field b4 when players were on the field like a water bottle or something…..so as for the shirts….who cares, Jab ur right no one was hurt and there were no players on the court.

As for people bashing us……at this point do whatever yall want to do, we will continue doing what we have done for every home game this year, and if you want to trash us some more, please do!

Infact come out to the final 2 home games to atleast see what we are doing, atleast you will be at the game, thats one more butt in a seat, even if it is to trash the Rexies

My point was we should all nip this in the bud when we see our friends, fans or whoever making poor decisions.
