The Owls won their second C-USA contest in a row on Saturday with a 73-69 win against UTSA.
FAU (8-9, 2-3) jumped out to a 20-10 advantage in the first half only to see themselves down at halftime 36-33.
The teams battled and exchanged leads until late in the second when a three pointer by Gedarius Troutman lifted the Owls into the driver's seat for good. He then sank two free throws for Florida Atlantic's final points.
Troutman paced all scorers with a game high 19 points and was 5-of-8 from long range on the afternoon while Ronald Delph was just shy of a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds.
Justin Massey and Jailyn Ingram pitched in 14 and 13 points respectively to give the Owls four scorers in double figures.
The Owls committed just five turnovers for the contest, marking a stark improvement from recent trend.
The team will next face Charlotte on Thursday at 7:00 PM in the first of a two game home stand.
