I went and looked at your post over there. I wouldn't believe everything you read there. Sure, the USF game drew more people than the FAU game. FIU was doing relativley well up to that point. If the season had continued well and they had won some SBC games, the FAU game would have been packed. As it was, they had a horrific season prior to the FAU game and everyone including the team lost interest.

The basketball team is not drawing anyone at home so you can't excpect them to go to away games.

The response you got over there is the opinion of 2 maybe 3 members of the FIU board that there is no interest in the rivalry. The poster over there is FOS. He doesn't like FAU and is trying to disquise the total apathy as a lack of interest in the FAU/FIU rivalry only.

It doesn't matter though. If we can use the "rivalry" to get our guys pumped up and ready and get lots of people to show up and they don't give a sh*#, that is to our advantage. They'll get their butts kicked because of "lack of interest".

As I said though. There are 2 or 3 posters over there making those statements which does not represent the rest of the school. But who cares, its only FIU.

faualum…well said. My only purpose is to get our fans and our players pumped up. Whatever it takes, if they had more than a few fans it might have worked. Oh well like you said "it's only FIU".

Well, you never know. FIU has a new AD and a new football coach. Maybe Garcia will want to focus on a UM rivalry to get more media attention. When FAU changes conferences the interest in the Shula Bowl may die on both sides. I'm just speculating.

God they are so retarded over on that board anyways trying to claim that no rivalry exists what so ever between the two schools. My question to them would be to name another regular season football game that gives a trophy to the winner for the year that is not a rivalry game? They do that because there is a rivalry, so then what the hell is the shula bowl?

I know I was being a little too aggressive in order to get their goat but it's quite obvious that they are a little overly sensitive. You know the old saying, "Ye which protest too much…" ;)

maybe you just ought to leave it alone. you seem to be aggravating one or two people. I've noticed on that board that unpopular posts just get ignored.

No need to argue what the status of the "rivalry" is. Thats the FIU poster's opinion and/or he's being "cool" about the whole thing in an attempt to make us look silly for showing enthusiasm for something he claims FIU has no interest.


BTW, the guy on the FIU board is correct, he didn't say "FAU Sucks" I think what you saw is one of their board member uses that as his/her user-name. That should prove there is no rivalry. ;D

As far as aggravating them…that was the point of the whole thing so a guess it worked but I am going to leave it alone. There only appears to be two main posters and they are the moderators so it's really not that much fun to screw with them. Like I said to them, they really need to lighten up, it's just a game.

Our board is really focused on the amazing performance our two guys had on the NFL Combine. Antwan Barnes tore it up over there, now some considering him perhaps even moving into a 1st Day draftee.

Of course we have a rivalry with you, and should keep nurturing it. However, it's no surprise our fans are not paying as much attention to this game as you are. Of course….you have so much traffic here…. :D
