Miami at a Glance:

Offense - 74 PPG, 43.5% FG, 41.7% 3PT

Defense - 87 PPGA, 54% FGA, 47.4% 3PTA

Rebounding -  35 RPG Hurricanes, 40 RPG Opponents

The Hurricanes will look to bounce back after their 13 point loss #5 Louisville on Tuesday. Their strong effort against the Cardinals came after a hard-fought exhibition win over FAU's season opening opponent Flagler.

UM is led by guard Chris Lykes and his team-high18 points in 32 minutes of game action. Center Rodney Miller is a threat inside the paint with 3-5 FG shooting and 9 boards.

Head coach Jim Larranaga enters his ninth year at Coral Gables with a predicted ninth place finish in the ACC.

FAU at a Glance:

Offense - 92 PPG, 52% FG, 42% 3PT

Defense - 51 PPGA, 50% FGA, 29% 3PTA

Rebounding - 39 RPG Owls, 26 RPG Opponents

FAU fought off a second half comeback from Flagler to open the season with a 11 point victory. In the win, transfer guard Cornelius "scooter" Taylor had a team high 20 points thanks to a 7-10 FG shooting night.

Coming back from injury Jailyn Ingram, Jayleen Sebree, and Everett Winchester all saw limited playing time, with 17, 14, and 10 minutes played respectively. Expect those numbers to increase Friday as FAU will need to rely on it's upperclassman leaders against the ACC caliber roster.

Latest Line: FAU +11

Owls put up a very solid first period until late, still hanging around though!

We’re getting beat up pretty good.

That being said, I love the way May has these kids playing.  Definitely will be attending games this season.

Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

The difference in this game is simply two things:

1. Too many turnovers - credit Cane D.

2. Points in the Paint.

The second is somewhat ironic considering we are out-rebounding them overall.

THAT is a BIG plus for us though…very encouraging to see us taking the rim game against a team with UM's size and athleticism…looking forward to conference play where that trait will be HUGE for us.

Owls start out VERY good, but can't pick up any ground in the 2nd half. Still a solid showing. Just need to work on some things, and sure Dusty May will use this as a teaching tool - as he always does!
