I think Ayden and Mike Burdman are doing a great job getting students to the game. Now we gotta get people on the other side.

Maybe because people in the area do not care about basketball, unfortunately.  Just because you market, doesn't mean it works.  If you market sand in the desert, doesn't mean people will buy into it.

It it were that easy, no business would ever go out of business.

Basketball in Boca Raton is a tough sell.  I know that we have an awesome product, but that doesn't mean everyone else thinks it is an awesome product.

I'm sure there are hard working employees at FAU. I see many of them working hard at every game. But how much marketing do we notice as we go about our week? Anything?

I heard ads on the radio around the end of football season. That's about it.

I know I saw that about a month ago FAU was looking for a Associate AD for Ticketing. I don't know if they have hired someone yet :/

I know BBall in Boca is a tough sell but you're telling me that if you went over to Spanish River, Boca High or Olympic Heights and gave their BBall coach say 15 tickets to bring the team to a NCAA Division 1 game against USF or WKU or even FIU that they're not gonna show up?

And to add to it ya never know what it can do for recruiting. If one of these kids we give free tickets too turns out to be something special

Free tickets, to fill up the Burrow on Saturday afternoon, show the local kids what a great atmosphere is like when the place is packed.

We win by filling the gym, looking good on ESPN and maybe winning the minds of a local player

Exactly! Give free tickets to anyone. Even a youth groups.
What if there's some 13 year old kid who ends up being a great player and he remembers how much fun he had years ago at the FAU game

I agree all of these ideas are good.  My main point is that everyone assumes that these things are not being done and that the marketing dept does nothing.

Whenever I am up in the Owl Club area at the basketball games (every game), I see groups in the suites, etc., which is exactly the type of activity mentioned on here.

The other issue is that just giving tons of tickets away for free does not guarantee participation.  There has to be some semblance of organization around that type of activity.  But agree it is a good thing if managed properly.

They gave out free ticket vouchers for the kids at the camp Jarvis has or something like that. There was TONS of kids..and their parents. It was a great atmosphere. I think that's who we should target because if the kids like what they see then they will nag their parents to go more often. And if the parents have a good time as well then they will be more inclined to show up. I know they give tickets away to high schools and stuff like that, just maybe there needs to be more of it, or at least do it on big games to guarantee a packed house…like this Saturday.
