Locked Topics

I locked all topics that have now become rather annoying to deal with.  I hate to do this to issues that are important to the university.

Everyone involved in this need to stop acting like a bunch of 12 year olds - GROW UP people, you are no longer in grade school.

I am getting tired of people acting all knowing and like they must be the first out with the last news, who cares, as long as the information is being shared.  Get a grip, we all come here to share & get information pertaining to FAU and hopefully discuss it like grown men.  I am getting tired of every thread becoming a bitch war between members - it's getting old very quickly.

If you happen to make a mistake, own up to it. It's called accountability.  I have manned up many times.

This is to ButterFly, I do know your identity by the way and I am very disappointed on how you have come on here - a representative of the University in whatever capacity it might be, but any person that represents a school should do so in much better light - if I was your employer, I would not only have disciplined you (with PM's), but probably have fired you already.  Your behavior is reflected back to the institution you supposably represent.  Be more careful on how you do represent yourself, because you also represent the institution you work for.

Many of you need to work on their people skills, which does involve how we interact with others.  Something with mannerism & respecting other come to mind also, it seems like it's becoming lost when people can hide behind a screen name and feel like they don't have to be accountable for their behavior.

This has become so ridiculous, that I have to lock threads that should be open discussion on pertinent issues concerning the school.

I have no problems with difference of opinions (I welcome it), I also have no problems with discussions becoming a little heated, but I will not tolerate personal attacks in the process.

If you so chose to use this forum as a soap box, be prepared for some criticism, if not, then I would suggest that you don't post.

This is all I am going to say about this.

Re: Locked Topics

HAHA!  wow…  Bytor, let people talk on this board and let them deal with issues on their own, no need to "rescue" anyone, its kind of childish.  I do not complain to you about anyone on this board, because I can hold my own ground (ignore what people say). I just think it's funny that because your little BB (figure it out), has a problem with me, you become all defensive, he BEGS for "some kind of action to be taken", and now you lock posts? WOW! Who runs this board, you or him?

Re: Locked Topics

Butter,

I seems like you just don't get it, there has been a couple of you acting childish and I am tiring of this behavior.  Either you GET it & behave or I will ban you, this is my last warning.  What is so hard to understand.

When I have MULTIPLE (yes, that means more then one - actually it over a dozen, do I need to explain that one too) members that have been here sine day one complaining continuously, then yes I do something about it.

This you against the world is getting old, they are others that have been warned - it's not just you.

Again, if you actually read the post, you would understand that I will not tolerate personal attack, if you can't discuss your opinions without them then I BEG you to stop posting.  member can talk all they want  with out personal attack, derogatory comments, racial slurs ….., but wait if you would have read the protocols for the board you would understand wouldn't you, then again probably not, since you seem to be missing the points I am trying to make, now and in my previous post.  It's not about you, it's about this community and it's members.

By the way it's not about rescuing anyone - IT'S ABOUT keeping the integrity of this board intact.  If you notice I let things go for a while and certain people that had been warned chose to continue their behavior, and I believe that is why we are at this point.

Either chance your attitude & behavior or I will ban you, no member is above anyone else on this site.

Overreaction. Too many people on this board want to act like they know all the inside info about this program while only a couple really do (09, Butter) and the rest are way too sensitive. Get over it.

woah… again, how did i get dragged into THIS one, now? lol

i appreciate sanibel and butterfly's kind words… sanibel is a great guy… butterfly, i wish i knew who the hell it was but such is life, lol

butterfly - i have been quiet, started a new side job while basketball season is over, and with the prospects of jarvis coming in, i will need a full-time new job because there is no way i would work for that man

lm77 - who called you naive? i sure didn't, lol… i have the upmost respect for bytor and how he runs his forum… i LOVE this place and wish it continues to grow, for FAU's sake… i think bytor does an excellent job here… sanibel and butterfly spoke their mind, that's their opinion and they are entitled to it… i, however, speak for myself, lol

Re: Locked Topics

FAU09 - I think you were "dragged" into this because I used your name in my comment to Butterfly on another post. I was positively commenting on how Nunzio, Jab, Fledge and you (even though some of the things you said were very opinionated) still identified yourself and stood by your comments. I was using you all as an example of dishing out criticism and not hiding behind a screen name, like I felt Butterfly was doing - especially as an employee of the athletics department as they claim.

Nonetheless, I am happy the personal attacks are over. I have very tough skin and I am not easily offended, so don’t think I was offended by anything anyone said.

However, I do frown upon criticism that isn't backed up with some kind of result. When I was a student leader, and now in my capacity as a university official, I always tell people that if they have a problem, don't bring it to me unless you have a solution. It keeps personal attacks out. I also live by the motto "seek first to understand, then to be understood."

And on a side note FAU09 – although I don’t necessarily agree with what you wrote in your editorials, I LOVE that you wrote them, took the time to write them and put real emotion into them. I wish that other students had the same love and passion you do for the school. If we had 1,000 more of you, combined with 1000s more of alumni and fans that have the same passion as the people on this board, we would fill the stands of Lockhart, the Burrow, FAU Baseball stadium, FAU Softball Stadium and even the bleachers at the swimming pool!
