recruits.
Nwoji is ranked as one of the top juco's moving on.
Pena is ranked as mentioned national honorable mention along with Riley who's on our radar.
Owens and Royster and not mentioned but they only do the top 100.
BC is having a down year, there's no reason we can't take them so early in the season, especially if Nwoji can grasp the offense early and control the game. four of the starting five will have played together last year which should help tremendously.
URI is going to be good, they have some solid players.
Were ranked number two in SBC behind WKU.
I'm pumped for this season. If we can grab Riley and Sanchez, have a solid recruiting class will be good for years to come too.

1-Florida Atlantic , 2-Baylor , 3-Chattanooga , 4-South Florida , 5-Florida International
Riley also may look into JUCO's.
this is from ESPN.com Insider. Anyone have any other info on him?

Re: recruits.
not that it means a whole lot but he is now ranked 24th Nationally (overall ranking, not position #)…two weeks ago he was basically unknown…wow, news travels fast…apperantly he can really shoot, and that is the main attraction - by why shouldn't it be?
could potentially be the best shooter in the SBC hands down - since Dre' that is…
if we land him, that would be absolutely SICK with Pena coming in…….

Re: recruits.
1. We offered him first.
2. Rex played in the NBA
3. New arena
4. Pena committing, other great prospects are now coming.
5. Our 2008 team has the potential to be in the top 25. Monroe, Nwoji, Sammie, Graham all being seniors and have played together for a year plus. Selling Riley he can be that 5th starter.

What are the chances?

That would basically be a Duke look-a-like from two years ago: 4 out 1 in…hmmm, interesting…
on our chances, stranger things have happned…i actually like our chances having added Pena to the mix…but with Shine having committed as well at the 2 guard, that doesnt necessarily play in our favor one would think from a needs perspective - we are already loaded at 2 guard:
Hughley
Perkins
Graham
and we do only have four spots total to offer…
plus, two of those shuold be big men…alhtough one could suffice if ther pay out was greater with Riley…
having said that, wow…its a tough call…
i mean stay traditional as far as a line up and go big (recruit two big guys with remaining spots), or sacrafice for the sake of getting a pure shooter, and bank on getting one more big man next year that can come in and play right away…
tough call…….

i don't think you can pass on a guy like Riley to get another Kone. get the sanchez and riley. Sanchez is juco guy too.
i honestly believe that due to where we are afterlast season's results, the new arena, and the other talent on board now, that we are firmly capable of attracting high major low post talent…nothing against Kone, but that was for a season in time…we are past that now…not of concern…just my opinion…
