I was anxious all day to come home and read more about this. I got to work and just wanted to look at the headlines to see what was going on. I was expecting to see some write ups about the victory over Troy. The top story on the google page was the Fox Sports article. I got on Ted's blog and asked anyone to read the article and report back. I can't open sports articles at work. I can open Ted's blog for some reason.

As far as Balado, does anyone know what his attitude is? Does he like FAU? Does he want to stay? Was it one big miserable family amongst the basketball coaches? We can't assume Balado should get the job until we find out where his head it at. If he shared Walters' feelings, then maybe he should go too.

As a long time St. Johns fan, growing up going to the games and knowing a lot of people who are big boosters to the program Mike Jarvis is a bad coach for us. He's lazy, doesn't recruit hard, its his way or the highway. I don't care for the guy. He would be a big name and I'm told he lives in Boca know. He knows basketball well but doesn't put in the extra effort.

he lives in Boca…i met him with DOH-erty at Spanish River Church one day before DOH-erty accepted the SMpew job…

yah and the rumor on the board was that u are me….or something like that…..?????  i have a feeling i know who u are butterfly but you just wont admit it! lol, too often do u sound like me and have too many opinions that are similar to the crowd i am often around.

Florida Atlantic University will open a national search to replace outgoing Head Men's Basketball Coach Rex Walters, announced Craig Angelos, FAU's athletics director, on Monday afternoon.

"Rex notified me of his decision late Sunday night," said Angelos. "While we are disappointed in how Coach Walters handled this situation, specifically as it relates to its affect on the team, program and university, we look forward to the opportunity to find a coach that will continue with our four cornerstones of institutional control, academic excellence, fiscal integrity and winning championships. I have met with the team and have assured them, as I assure the community, that we will seek a coach who is committed to Florida Atlantic and to winning the Sun Belt Conference."

It's rare for any kind of management to make such a statement in prepared remarks.

What's absurd are the comments Walters made on MARCH 28. He didn't need to be so pro-FAU, and it's clear that they were completely hollow words.

I am totally committed to getting this program to the highest level. One man can not do it alone. I will demand that my coaching staff and players out work the competition everyday that we put FAU across our chests. We truly need everyone's support to make this thing happen at FAU. A team and a basketball program is a very fragile one. I promise that everyday when I wake up my mind is on doing everything I can to get us there. I am not looking nor will I look to go somewhere else.
