the guy will be good but not great. he was okay on George Mason. That article has our starting lineup completely wrong. Nwogi will be starting next year 100%. I'm hoping this guy can step up and play over parmer.

from the articles I read it seems like he wanted to be closer to home. So its kind of weird he would even consider Duquesne. He only played a few minutes in the first five games, playing in two of them.

On a side note I am sad to hear that Sammy Hernandez is transferring. The Puerto Rico native wants to be closer to home and apparently couldn't handle the winters here in the Fairfax. I know the real reason hes transferring and his name is Jesus. With Urbina's return and freshman Louis Birdsong in the mix, Sammy is the odd man out at the 3 or 4 position. You hate to lose anyone with NCAA tournament experience, but his departure will open up another scholarship for the future; and the way our current recruiting is going that makes me very happy.

Sammy is in, Monroe is back, great news all around!
I'm excited to see how this team will do this spring and next year as they continue to grow.

Sammy will be enrolled this coming semester, correct? Than I take it, since he is an enrolled student, he can practice with the team. Is that also correct? If so that will bring practices to a higher level.

Its great that Monroe is back. The Monroe/Rice combination is back. We should do well the rest of the season. NO LAST PLACE FINISH!!. FIU will not know what hit them the next time we meet. They didn't get a chance to see Monroe in the first game so they won't be prepared for him especially if they use the game film of the first meeting to prepare.

Now if Rex can find a big center. I'm sure he knows what he needs so we'll leave it up to him.

Great commentary on the blog link Exit39…for the majority of the folks who posted, it seems like they are not happy to see him go…this is a young man of good character, and very good low post skills…im not going to agree with any of them on their playing assesment until i see him play at our level of competition - its all relevant…

but i will go as far as to say that there is no one in the belt who has impressed me on the low block except our very own Carlos Monroe - not one…Sammy will be an awesome addition…they may try to create match ups with him…he will be a factor in this league…
