We'll see how he coaches in the tourney but I'm definitely thinking when FAU enters this tourney they have a chance to win it.

it would be nice to make a run in the sun belt championship but I think were just setting ourselves up for next year. Will have a deeper bench with better talent. As much as rice helps, Nwoji will be a better point guard and were going to have a solid inside presence with the bigger guys we have coming in. Plus the defense ability of Sammy should help out a lot.
I wonder if Rex is still looking to sign anyone in the later period.
not to mention Royster's shot blocking presence - NOT ONE team in the Belt has a shot blocker - NOT ONE…i still have a hard time believing it…so, why not be the first!

This team could definitely pull it off. I say main objective for next few years keeping Rex happy. Let him develop as a coach. You never know one coach can really build a program quickly and for his first year, although he's made some mistakes he's highly competent. He's got some really good recruits lined up for next year, and I think that is imperative.

I Hope they were smart enough to build a large buyout clause in his contract…Doherty's $250k was a joke…i would have put $750k on T-Rex…he's got too much potential not to…
The way things are shaking up now, if he goes .500 or better, thats a major accomplishment…next year he goes .650 or better, then some clown like SMU's athletic director will start sniffing around for fresh young talent - "Oh, look at FAU and Coach Walters"…….dont like the sound of it…we need to lock this guy in for long term…despite the emotion, he's proved himself as a teacher already…look at the development of virtually every player back from last year, and Parmer - who had NEVER been a part of a team that ran a system even remotely close to what FAU does…
Rex has serious upside on all levels…and we dont even need to talk about recruiting…he has already signed the best class in FAU hoops history, and arguable the best class for the entire Belt for next season…just read up on some of the others schools commits, or lack thereof should i say:
