Here's an idea:

Let's get an Athletics department that understands how to raise money instead of just looking to cut costs all the time.

We are in Boca Raton for goodness sake.

We talk about fundraising on here for worthy causes, how about helping with this raise! Start a fund, chip in and give the money to Jarvis to pay his assistants. I'd much rather give them the money directly than give it to the univeristy where we're not exactly sure where the money goes.

It would certainly make Angelos look inept when a booster organization is formed OUTSIDE of University control to take care of things that he's obviously incapable of.

I'd certainly donate to that cause. It would show a how terrible the Athletics dept. is but it would show Jarvis how appreciated he is. I'd like to Angelos's side of things as well. Are we really talking about $60,000? Do we really not have that type of money?

Just a guess, but it's probably not up to Angelos.  He can request it, but I'd guess that for extra money like that, it would have to be approved by the Board of Governers…does anyone know if that is right?

The board of Governers oversees the entire public university system in Florida, so no, they do not have to get involved.  Our Board of Trustees may have to approve, but seriously, this small amount of money is a joke for a division 1 program.  It should have been done about five minutes after the request.

My point was that Angelos probably has to request the money…and then the BOT needs to study it…then meet about it…etc.

It is a relatively small amount of money though, and it should not hold up this contract.  Get it done!!

This has been going on for over a year.  This kind of approval takes an hour.  Real schools call emergency meetings and major things happen quickly.  This is an embarrassment.

We need some changes to ever move this program forward.
