Ticket fiasco

If they could just get their hands on one of those old machines that press the card to the voucher, that would be all they need. A copy of the voucher could be given to the customer. Not sure if many of those exist anymore. Not sure if many or any kids know what I am talking about.

Sad to hear about all of the ticket problems. I am surprised that they don't have an ATM in the near vicinity to the arena. Hopefully they will get on board and start taking credit cards. GO OWLS!!!

Ghost, I'm with you on the Credit Cards, it happened to me once as well, of course I'll never forget to bring cash again but it's bush league to not be able to accept cc's.

are they allowed to serve beer in the gym? we're not a dry campus, what's the ruling on that?

When i was Marketing Director for the department, we had Midnight Madness, Homecoming (before football) and alot of men's games with highly attended tailgates that had kegs…our formula always included the huge balloon at the front entrance of campus with a homestand (series of home games) on it - lit up at night, shirts, and pizza…and, if we could, beer…at that time our relationship with Budwieser was very tight…make a call and the keg truck rolled up at 5:30pm - cold and ready to serve…we once threw a tailgate series called "Tailgating Around The World" which had Tex-Mex, Tuscan, Thai, and Tzatziki (greek) food themes which was hugely successful…

i wish they would do some things like that again…we had kids showing up minimum of one hour before the game…and none of this dragging in at the 10 minute mark…when the announcements went on, the stands had 1000 people in it…

Shortly prior to my resigning, they (administration) adjudicated to have alcohol removed from athletic venues where students where concerned…now, it can only be "consumed" in the confines of the upper deck - boosters and Owl Club members…so, if you want to drink, pony up the requirement, which i think is $250…might be mistaken though…

Yeah, it's a $500 donation to get into the Owl Club hospitality suite.

Yeah, I just got an email from Shelley last week about the hospitality suite. Free beer and wine and free food for the donor and one guest before every home game... That was the first I had heard of it tho.

Wow!…Thats does not sound bad at all. I think if I went with a buddy, we could put away 500.00 dollars in beer and food in 1 night. They really need to advertise that deal more.

As for the Ticketmaster comparison….notice how many ticket outlets there are now? Hardly any. It's just poor planning, that's all. We just need to get with the times…it's these kind of things that give us a reputation for being behind the times. It's bad enough we play in a high school gym…

As for the $500 to get up on the hospitality balcony…that seems like an ok deal for the entire season. Only thing is that it those fans could be in the bleachers instead…although, to be honest, they probably wouldn't be wearing decoy owls on their heads and making much noise.

Well the Ticketmaster Outlets are disappearing due to the Internet, not necessarily because they don't take credit cards. Still it's no excuse for FAU not to take them at the Arena. All they have to do is get the card number and a driver's liscense.

Ghost,
not sure if it was you or not but I think you were sitting right behind me at the game. I agree with you on the speakers in the gym. They are awful, the dance team would be better off bringing their own boom box and playing that. They crank the music up as loud as they can in the gym and it sounds terrible. It sounds like that kid who is driving in his car and has his windows rolled down and his stereo way up but all you can hear is the bass pumping.

I was yelling at the refs to until howard turned around and gave me a nasty look for telling the ref he sucked lol. I don't think he was too happy with that comment. Oh well, I was just speaking the truth.

Luckily we improved our F/T shooting for the game tonight because against MTSU that was just awful. We couldn't buy a foul shot

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!
