Re: Time for redemption...

Time for redemption...

I think it is about time for Rex to swallow his pride a bit and step back fromt he light and really look at the team.

the players are not happy, he is not winning, and they are doing the same exact thing night in and night out.  Something isnt working here coach.

I like rex and the attitude that he brings to the game, but u cant go in a do it all yourself you have to have your team behind you.

And as for him not doing an interview…..wow!  I dont know what to say…..maybe the media shoudl strike after the next few home games……just not show up in the room after the game…..honestly do we need any more excuses on why we are losing….i think not!

Had I listened to the game (via internet), I would have been pretty put off by his no-show to offer some kind of analysis. Were the Owls ever in the game? Or was it as big a blowout as the final score suggests?

i watched it on TV, then turned on the radio for post game - no dice.

yes, they were toe to toe for the first 10 minutes, then it all fell apart - leterally…mostkly due to WKU going on a tyraid of three pointers, and us "choking" to keep up and also turning it over some…

That was a little harsh but I am really getting tired of Rex's way of handling situations, his arrogance appears to be a big problem with the players also.

agree…

autocratic leadership style (see Bob Knight) went out a LONG time ago…

now, its about being a leader by example, and garnering respect through mutual respect, but at the saem time being the leader by way of superior knowledge…

how you communicate that knoweldege and feedback when they fall short is the key here IMO…

I wish he would take some advice from Schnelly, because from what I understand that's how he coaches and we are going to need a decent BBall program if we ever want to move out of this conference.

GO OWLS!

Reminds me of the first year going to the FAU games, we were sooo bad that if we kept it within 20, Jared, Will, myself etc… considered it a FAU victory.  :P :-[

Haha those were the days with "Whose your daddy" Tony Lee and Jon Smart and I think they won 1 game during the entire regular season I think we beat Nova and then we went into the ASun tournament and won our first game but I believe after that we got crushed by Georgia State.

Mike I think thats when you, me, & will were some of the only fans in the gym, even less then this year
How about when that guy from Georgia State told you to wait for him outside the gym.  I still don't think I've since you run that fast since. 8) ;)

Haha that was my highlight as fan. I believe it was the big center in G. State this was probably in 2000? He fouled out of the game and was pleading with the ref that he only had 4 fouls… So I stood up and yelled "That's why you go to Georgia State… because you can't count! 1,2,3,4,5 learn how to count! and of course there were probably 100 people in the gym at the time and the guy just yelled at me "after the game, after the game" and continued to point at me lol.

You would run to if that guy came after you lol

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

Re: Time for redemption...

If Rex had had some sort of legitimate reason – such as a family emergency – someone from the staff would have told the media, right? I'm just trying to think if there's any legitimate reason why he could have blown it off.

Otherwise, yeah he blew it off because he's probably tired to answering the same questions in the same way. You can only say "we have some work to do" so many times… I'm surprised Cristobal showed up at so many post-games.
