Just spoke with Coach for his weekly call.  Obviously Simpson has been absent for some time now, and wanted to see what his staus was…here's what Coach had to say:


Q: Have we seen the last of DeMonte Simpson as an Owl?

A: "I don't know if you've seen the last of him, but you're not going to see him playing this semester."


Q: So there is a chance he could return next semester?

A: "There's always a chance."


Q: Are you at liberty to disclose why he is not with the team?

A: "He is concentrating on his studies. It's hopefully a good thing if he takes care of business, then whether he comes back here or goes some place else he'll be able to play. And that's the main thing."


Q: Is that up to him?

A: "Nothing is ever up to one person in a relationship."

I saw Demonte at school today.

That's a good place for him…sounds like he was failing.
