VOTE: Former Owl Shavar Richardson & Basketball City in "The Basketball Tournament"!

Former FAU shooting guard Shavar Richardson and his Team "Basketball City" are competing in "The Basketball Tournament" (TBT) this year and they need Owl Nation's help!

During his time at FAU under former head Coach Mike Jarvis, Richardson etched his name in the Owls' Record Books as a 1,000 point Team Member and currently sits 3rd in free throw percentage (82%), 6th in most three-point baskets (157), and 10th in most points scored (1,018).

Votes helps with seeding, and that is the name of the game for YOUR call to action in helping this former Owl.

Named after and sponsored by Basketball City, a massive basketball complex located on the Lower East Side in Manhattan, the squad that GM Dave Schoenholt leads into TBT won’t lack for practice space. The team began practicing weeks ago, and has partnered with the Boomer Esiason Foundation for this event. They will donate a percentage of their winnings should they prevail in TBT.

64 Teams (16 from each region) will play for $2,000,000 in a Winner-takes-all format. The Top 11 vote-getters from each region get automatic bids; and 3 others get at-large bids. The last two teams will consist of the defending regional champion from 2015 and the winner of the charity fundraiser.

Regionals: Charlotte and L.A. 7/9-7/10 & Chicago and Philadelphia 7/16-7/17.
Super 16: Philadelphia 7/21-7/23.
Semifinals and Championship Game: New York City 7/30 & 8/2.

Please share this call to action with all of your fellow Owl Nation members!
