There is a big step from HS to D1 basketball in any conference. I hope moody is ready to have to actually work to score.
"have to actually work to score"? Are you kidding me? He was regularly double an triple teamed in HS and scored 30 a night. When he was played straight up I believe he averaged over 40 ppg. Jarvis can find a D1 player when he sees one and he is really excited about this kid, as we all are.

Stefan is the most ready made scorer I have ever coached or been involved with. I honestly believe, if he is 1 on 1, and wants to get a basket. He can take his man off the bounce and get a bucket at will. His first step is quick, he is strong enough to take contact, and he is beyond explosive, and he has unreal hang time(which helps him adjust in the air).
He was played straight up man to man, 3 times this season(2 of them, was man to man, but the help side was ridiculous).
He scored 54, 37, 42.
The 54 came against the defending 4A State Champs Leesburg that returned all 5 starters. That team made the state title game again this year. They had a 6'4 mid major D1 All-State PG guarding Stef. Stef had 54. A few times they ran a double at him but once he split it a few times, they stopped.
37 came against Gateway who was the #1 seed in our district, and OBC champion. They played man to man but over extended help side with pretty much meant, once he beat his man, 2 other guys were waiting on him.
The 42 came in the Great Florida Shootout, with Jarvis I and Jarvis II in attendance. He did it against a team from Kentucky that was ranked top 8 in the state of Kentucky. The Kentucky team has a 6'3 guard who moved from New York and as a junior was named Western New York player of the year. He had 38 while Stefan had 42.
….a 4th team played him man to man, and he had 35 in 1 half, but fouled out within a few minutes of the 3rd quarter so I don't really count that.

There is no doubt that Stef is a good player but you fail to acknowledge that the guys playing defense at this level actually know what theyre doing. High school basketball is hard to judge, half the time its guys like me playing, the kid is head and shoulders better than everyone on the court which is why hes playing mid major d1 ball but he will find it faster once the horn blows. Maybe it takes him a few games, a month, half the season, who knows but it wont be as easy as his high school ball.
Thats what i'm saying. i went to high school games… slim pickings with talent there most of the time and thats why there wasnt anyone there whole could man up to him on D. I'm sure he'll be fine once he settles in, but it will be a big curve in talent.

Oh, I thought you were at the Troy game recently…….
No, we were not able to attend due to a staff member having a baby.
