Come to terms with the fact Jarvis will be here the ENTIRE season and if he doesn't have a good year….he's gone.

Does Jarvis' contract extension expire after this season?

If it does, and he has another subpar season, I'd be interested to know why people think we should retain him. Or rather, why Chun wouldn't want to go out and get his own guy from Ohio.

If the only reason is "we can't afford to go get someone new" - often cited in hypotheticals like these -  that's a pretty poor excuse. There are a number of assistants that will jump at the opportunity even if we only pay 250k (or whatever Jarvis' salary is).

Jarvis' contract does not expire until after next season.

Reasons not to fire him after this season:

If you hire a new coach and your old one still has a contract, you are paying 2 coaches for the same year.

There is not a demand for FAU basketball right now.  If the burrow was packed every game and people being turned away it may be different.  For those boycotting a sport because of the coach…it doesn't help.  It has the opposite affect of your desired outcome.  If no one cares to go, there is no reason to pay 2 coaches.

If we hire another football coach, and have to increase the pay quite a bit, there will not be a big desire to pay 2 basketball coaches.

I believe there are more people out there donating money who support Coach than those donating money who do not.  I don't know that for a fact, but I sure do get to meet a lot of those who do support him.  Those who know him, love him.

Bottom line:  we need more people to support the program now and not wait until we are winning titles.  That goes for all sports.  It is simple to build a program after the wins come.

How it works at the big boy programs:  people want a coach out, they donate a load of money to pay the buyout and donate to increase the pay of the next coach.  We are not there.

Thaat's right he signed a 3 year contract not a 4 year, so at least one more year after this… With that being said we won so not sure why were contemplating getting rid of him now

Support for a program doesn't "just happen". You have to win for them to start supporting and showing up. Jarvis isn't winning and is losing multiple players every year. So it is tough to find players to cheer for because the roster is brand new every year, because of Jarvis.

True…but to talk firing one game into the season is nuts!  It will never happen, no money.  If he has another bad season, I will want him gone.  He created this situation, the cards that he dealt are stacked against him.  I am still rooting for him to succeed…cause I am tired of losing…
