Final Quick Stats:

FAU
18-44 (41%) FG, 5-14 (36%) 3 PT

Troy
17-60 (28%) FG, 6-27 (22%) 3 PT

Greg Gantt paces the team with 26 points, but more importantly passes Earnest Crubley as the school's all-time leading scorer. He made four key free throws in the final moments of the game and finished the evening with an impressive 10-of-13 mark at the charity stripe.

Pablo Bertone had his best performance of the season and  complimented Gantt with a career-high 21 points. The Argentinian made multiple shots to extend key runs and was 8-of-14 from the field.

The team put together a commanding 18-0 run between the closing minutes of the first half and the opening seconds of the second half after trailing for a majority of the game until that point.

Walk-on guard Richard Morrow - who made his first career start - played 22 minutes and had four assists to go along with seven rebounds.

The Owls dominated the glass out-rebounding Troy 46-33, despite the fact that center Dragan Sekelja saw just 4 minutes of action. Kelvin Penn had four blocks before fouling out with two minutes remaining in the half.

The Trojans shot just 26% from the field and were paced by Antoine Meyers who had 18 points.

Big win for us. If Bertone can be half the player he was tonight along with the Gantt-Moody 1-2 punch, watch out! On a side not, I know Ernest Crumbley is currently the head coach at a Community College at Oklahoma. How about getting this guy on our staff down here? Traditions begin by getting former players (especially star players) heavily involved with the program. I'd love to see Crumbley on Jarvis' staff and idk about you guys but I'd be upset if the football team ever let go of Jared Allen.

Ah, I wouldn't hold your breath on that one. Too many factors working against it.

It creates a "family" atmosphere, sure, and Schnellenberger was a big fan of that too. But you're talking about a guy voluntarily leaving a head coaching job for an assistant coach job position that isn't available and probably wouldn't be offered to him anyway because I doubt Jarvis knows him. Jarvis would fill any hole in the staff with one of his guys, you know? And Chun's not going to tell him he has to take Crumbley… doesn't work like that.

Now, IF Crumbley lost his job and couldn't find another one OR wanted to get out of coaching AND we had, say, a basketball marketing position, then yes, I could see it being extended to someone like him.

Agreed. Fortunately, I don't see that happening. Not only did he impress Pelini, he's super dedicated and he's supposedly a pretty good recruiter too - and why wouldn't he be? They say the easiest sale is a product you truly believe in and Allen definitely believes in FAU.
