GAME THREAD: FAU vs FIU 12-10-07

I'm very happy with Coach Walters… this team is going places under the leadership of Coach Walters… collectively, football basketball and baseball have three excellent coaches that will take FAU into the next decade, i really believe it

don't stop there. The swim team has already won the Sunbelt Conference championship. They have a great coach and recruiter. The softball team has a great coach. The track team for not having a track up until a month ago is coached well. They are doing good this year. Dugan on the other hand I think is a little shocked at the competition level of the Sunbelt.

I didn't see him or what he was wearing, but they said that Heat forward and former Kansas Jayhawk, Wayne Simien was there last night. He is friends with Rex.

Yeah, that was him. he was sitting first row right behind the FAU bench. Thanks.

Thanks for taking some pictures of the fans bmarkey, we love em!

next home game we're bringing boxes of graham crackers to go with the rice!

Ok so I just noticed something as I was sending stuff to the UP, the women's game did set an attendance record. This is what I got from the FAUsports website:

"Notes: With 927 fans in the stands FAU broke its previous attendance record of 911 set on 11/18/00 against FIU."

So at least we set one record….. :)

BMarkey caught the Heat's Wayne Simien in one of his pics. He is in the bottom left corner…

Congrats to the Owls. As for the comments you have mentioned a couple of times on this thread about FAU's coaching, and at least on another thread, it was one or two people (one not necessarily FIU fan) that mentioned it. However, taking the same rationale you took with Arnette's comments, by the way, their comments "weren't trying to be insulting. I think both of them were not just not impressed with Walters at all"…For the record, I have no basis to believe or support that…..

This game, nor the other, did not bring as much emotions on our board as in this one, that is for sure. I'm glad we are playing this series, though, once again, as we have always have had spirited games throughout our history and the series, which FIU leads now 11-7, has had plenty of ups and downs, with FAU evidently dominating this year. Once again, congratulations on your win, and on bringing that many fans to your gym….

i dont think i saw one FIU fan last night…whats up with that!?

I just read Marcus' blog. He did point out probably this biggest reason why the attendance record didn't get broken is because little to no fans from FIU showed up.

According to Marcus, when the record was set, there were alot of Miami fans there for that game.
