Re: Game Thread: FAU vs UNF
Our dear friends at SMU just lost to a new A-Sun team. USC-Upstate. Their first victory of the season. I'm not sure if SMU could be competative in the A-Sun.

Re: Game Thread: FAU vs UNF
Consider the following:
How many set plays did we run? And how many times did we try and go inside? It was obvious that we had a specific "game plan", and Rex (as mentioned above) chose to be very conservative, opting not to show any of our "wrinkles", as Conference play begins in two days…yes, this aspect of the game was very frustrating to watch for those of us who really wanted to see a 20+ point blow-out…
That's one point.
How many times did we try and exercise a second and third option on our sets? Ill save the "research", NOT MANY…but when we did, was it a success? Comments on that, please? Not to spoil it, but the "options" were a combined 9 for 13 from the floor, and 8-9 from beyond the stripe…again, any comments on that?
That's a second point.
C-Los:
25 Points…10 RB…
Its time to permanently let analysis of his game go. We need a complimentary scorer to allow him to score more than 25 PPG.
Third point.
Team Stats:
46.7% from the field - comments on that???
Turnovers - ok, the big black eye on the team's game…i agree, this REALLY killed us. And truly was THE reason we did not get to the blowout.
Final comment:
Again…we have not seen the team yet…and until we do, comments like the above should, with all due respect, remain in "stand by mode" - if they will be necessary at all…
Owens:
Dressed and did not play…coaches decision? Conference game in two days…
Hernandez:
Will be playing.
Graham:
Will be back in two weeks and could play (coaches decision) on the 5th @ FIU…
Thursday night should tell us a few things…but we really wont know until Graham is back…
Until then i remain positive…

You may be right on most topics, or maybe wrong. Not too sure either way, but you got an answer for everything!
UNF lost to William and Mary by 26 and we beat them only by 6!! This is the first time we've scored over 70 points, the list of concerns go on and on.
Don't take this as a personal attack on you, I know there are others that want to stay "positive", but the fact remains we are NOT as good as we should be! See it for what it is.

Florida_Owl, I must say I don't follow FAU basketball as much as other sports, but you are definitely a homer FAU basketball fan!

not taken as such…
but what is a "homer FAU basketball fan"?
and no offense to you either, but why would you make such an indirect analogy as you did above…
how about something objective and factual that is relevant?
TO is the key to this game…not the play of "Wiiliam and Mary"…
AND
Rex calling a rediculously conservative game…
Again, no offense to you either ;)
i dont know what "Wiiliam and Mary" ran against them, and i really dont care…
cmon, you have to get past the "they won by x amount of points, so we should win by x amount of points"…its irrelevant…
BUT, if you insist:
WM lost to GEORGETOWN by 15…Georgetown is ranked 5th nationally…just behind Kansas, who WAXED us…so do the math there…i think you see my point now…
Until you see the whole team, and the whole team only, perhaps hang on to the premature "naysayer" bandwagon hop?

Re: Game Thread: FAU vs UNF
As for the "indirect analogy"… I pointed out a few things that I looked up quickly to highlight expectations we SHOULD have.
And, here is your FACT: FAU sports have all gotten better in the last 2-3 years, except for basketball.
Care to argue that?
Teams that are weaker are beating teams we barely beat by 10-15 points.
I wasn't referring to your points made, but more of your overall defense that you seem to throw down anytime someone comments on the lack-luster FAU basketball performance.
I think you'd agree, we should be seeing better basketball.
