Just think how far that team that made the tourney could have gone if they had a coach. ;D
Like Rex? lol
Maybe Sid will show up at SMU so him and Daughtery can suck together! lol
My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

Re: Game Thread: FAU vs UNF
maybe they did try too hard, but i could tell you who they were passing to b4 they made the pass. Their layups were bad. Their defense was good but had a breakdown in the middle of the 2nd. And when it came to working it down below…..they didn't force anything in, Monroe had some good match ups, against their two white towers which i think combined for 215 lbs.
Thats why i have a bleak outlook, while the additions of other players will help, it is hard to polish up a team when the fundamentals are not strong, or at least inconsistent.

reason that i have such a bleak outlook on the season is the fact that the fundamentals of the team look bad….

Nunzio is exactly right. Hey, I love the Owls as much as the next guy. I believe Rex is the right guy and is awesome. I hope we realize our potential when we get everyone healthy and available. The point is, that right now, today…we are not a very good team. The fundamentals are not strong. The passing is telegraphed. The play is sloppy. We miss easy shots going to the basket.
The one thing that seems different this year versus Doherty's first year and last year with Rex…even when we lost, those games were exciting to see. This year…and I have attended all home games…it is not an exciting team to watch, and the games are not exciting. I think that is what I see and feel the most about this year.
Let's get Sammy in and PG back and hopefully it turns around. I would like nothing more then to see that happen for the team…they deserve it because I know they are working hard. It is just not coming together yet.

ok, this i will agree with…all of it…
and add this:
Jamal Owens
from everything i have heard about this guy (granted its heresay at this point though, but Rex is one source) he is going to help us offensively around the basket and with the slashing, etc…we dont really have anyone who can do that…X-Man is tryng, but he is still stuck in HS mode where he was a step quicker and faster, and could "muscle" his way to the rim uncontested…
owens is supposed to be a high flying slasher, with strong finishing skills…a style of play that is very minimal in this league…so that would be a SOLID PLUS to our current compliment of players…
I love JP's game in some regards, but he does not have this ability when playing the three spot…
he was much better suited last year when we went two down low with C-Los and himself…i dont know why we abandoned this role - but probably due to lack of roster right now…if he can go back to just the four with Sammy, that should help his game and offer much needed depth…
Then Royster can move to the five with C-Los as a reliever, and we will have Sammy to take up the the post play…
Our big weakness right now is a pure 2 man…not one…BUT, i am starting to like Sean more…he is stepping up, shooting alot better (which i think was in his head behind Dre, etc)…
the only question i have is why we dont run more off the screen shots…never do it…its always set a screen to come around then try and drive…
why not pop off the ball screen then pop it immediately…maybe Rex doesnt have the confidence in the guys to do this…dunno…

EXACTLY!!!!! there were numerous times last night that we had seconds to set and shoot, good shots. But no, we looked to move the ball around the key, and while they were playing some form of the 3-2 zone the Ospreys covered the perimeter very well.
catch set and fire………we have the shooters esp. when they are on.
missing a true 2 guard is hurting us though……its hard when ones outlet is the center at the top of the key.

This seems to be all they look to do for the most part - dump inside is ALWAYS the first option…even if, like you said, they are wide open…
Tonight could be tough…
still deciding on wether to listen or not…it might get frustrating…
