Great game.  Even though FIT isn't much of a test, it was good to blow a team out and the talent level of FAU is really evident on the court.  Ray Taylor is a stud.  The minute he walks on the floor you can tell he's a star.  Absolutely the best player on the floor.  Can't wait to watch him the next 4 years.  The rest of the squad is so much deeper and more talented then last year it's almost funny.  We may be a year away from winning the Belt, but this team is going to make a lot of noise this year.

Also, I was impressed by the crowd.  They announced 1636.  Great turnout for a Friday night game against a D-II school.  Lots of kids and lots of students.  Hopefully they all keep coming back.

Random thoughts on the game:

We are going to be so much more exciting to watch this year!  How nice to see players actually going to the bucket.  Ray Taylor is entertaining to watch, he can make so many things happen.  Greg Gantt is going to be a huge player for us.  I'm on the fence with DeMonte Simpson, but hey, it's early, so time will tell.  We are going to need his big body in conference play.

Missed the band being there tonight (they were out on the track practicing for tomorrows football game).  They bring so much atmosphere to the games.  FIU has made a major mistake by not having a band.

Great crowd.  Good to see the students come out on a Friday.

For the football fans out there that are disappointed, give basketball a shot, it is a great entertainment value.
