Game Thread: Troy vs FAU - 02/24/11 @ 7:00 PM

Troy gets its first three (DeAndrae Ross from the right corner) and then Bertone is stuffed going in, but Taylor gets the ball and pulls off a nice running hook. Troy is not hitting the side of a barn this game. FAU gets the ball back and Bertone gets his first basket. 30-18, 4:34.

Troy (Shawntez Patterson) hits a three from the far left corner. 30-21, 3:52.

Troy is warming up. Will Weathers just hit a long three. Jordan McCoy was fouled going for a jam and hit one shot.

Richardson hit a three from the right corner, putting FAU up 34-23. Troy then got two. 34-25.

After a scrum on the floor by the FAU net, Alex Tucker picked up the ball and scored on a layup. 36-25. FAU.

Troy scores in close … 36-27. FAU misses and Troy holds for the final shot of the half. Bernard Toombs goes high for a jumper  near the edge of the paint, but it clangs out.

Halftime: FAU 36 - Troy 27.

Troy stayed in this thanks to three relatively late three-pointers. If the Trojans heat up a bit, this might be a good game to see.

Just when Try was making it a game, Taylor hits a three form the left corner, then FAU steals it under the basket and Gantt gets two. 44-29 FAU. 16:49.

Troy hits two FTs. 44-31.

Richardson gets a three and then after a Troy miss, Royster hits for two. 49-35 FAU. 14:49

The Burrow got a bit more crowded during the first half. Now most of the reserved side is full and about three-quarters of the student side is full. It's a lot more lively now.
