i have stood in support of Nick given his shooting ability…but after tonight do have some serious concerns having finally gotten a chance to see him squared up against formidable competition…

He was matched up against Valdez, and the guy was two to three paces ahead of him during the entire assignment…could not get around screens…could not keep up with him…

I'm not throwing the kid in the dog house just yet, but, like you, am questioning why we have someone on full paid ride that is not only not seeing any minutes when we have a 6 man roster, but also is markedly behind in athleticism…

Recently, MJ said he signed Richardson "sight unseen"…in this case, i am also wondering if Gagel was the same scenario…

He is NOT athletically in the same genre' as the rest of the guards we have; shooting ability as an "aside" of course…

Although, he hasn't taken any because he is never on the court…it seems he gets no time because he could can not keep up with the man he is supposed to counter on the opposition…

yea and then on 1 offensive possesion he trips and on another he gets in the way of a pass to Paul Graham.  Im sure he will improve as time goes on.

Every single season starts out like this with a thread with people giving up on this team.

All we need to be doing is playing good at the right time i would rather be in a slump now then later on in the year were 0-5 in confrence and without monroe for 3 weeks its gonna b hard to get some wins but we should pack the house on Thursday and support this team wheather there winning or not

Jarvis mentioned that the focus is March.  How the Owls will be ready for tournament play.

It's funny how at the beginning of the season depth was not a concern, first time in many years & then it is a major concern.

The players are playing hard and have shown the ability to being able to play with anyone.  With all the shuffling of the line-up, it's bound to mess things up a bit.  There is time between now & March to piece things together.  Long road to be sure, but Jarvis will have this team prepared.

I don't see it as a joke team. They are playing well but vastly under-sized without Monroe and under-staffed. Some of the players are spending way too much time on the court. Call this a rebuilding year. Last night FAU was down by 4 at the half but ran out of gas in the second half.  Players like Graham are getting way too many minutes of playing time. They aren't winning but are playing good.

the only thing that see as a joke, is the different reasons Monroe hasnt played this year

Yeah, that's what it sounds like to me too. They start strong and run out of steam because they don't have enough bodies. From the sound of it, we need more bodies and more height.
