First of all, congratulations on graduation (I'll be there too). Even though Bachelors and Masters degrees walk at the ceremony on Friday, degrees aren't sent out for another few weeks, as grades aren't posted until a few days after graduation. Only PhDs actually received their diplomas at the ceremony.

No I know that.  I just think it's kind of weird to walk and not even have taken exams.

First of all, I'm happy to know that the shooting wasn't more serious and that everyone is ok. I am annoyed that all classes are canceled because the shooter is still around and we have no idea if "he" was a student or a visitor. I hope someone out there has a brain and convince him to turn himself in. We're not truly going to be safe knowing that he's still at large.

You walk at graduation but don't receive your diploma until all degree requirements are met. You can fail one class, not be able to graduate and walk across the stage and not know until weeks later.

p.s. I received an e-mail about campus lockdown.

As far as reverse 911 system goes — you have to sign up for it and agree to receive the text message alerts. i think…

President Brogan was just on Fox News. Lock down is over, but school is still closed. Said the suspect has been identified no name was released and the police have him in custody and he is no where near the campus. He wasn't a student and he has been detained by Florida police
My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

I woke up out of a dead sleep for no apparent reason (not even to go to the restroom) and laid awake for a few minutes. Then my phone vibrated— campus shooting a text message said. To say the least my heart jumped.

I'm glad that no one got hurt. These types of things don't happen on our campus. I'm pleased to read that the sirens and emergency alert system went off to alert students.

Hopefully this won't put a damper on admissions and/or outside-interest to the school.

I woke up as well - out of a dead sleep…to the police helicopters flying over…and over…and over…and over…and over…and over…and over…and, well, i think you get the point…
