Fan guide and traditions

This is also one of the things that we need to talk about, is bringing traditions from other schools and conforming to them by just adding owls to it for examples "Marching Owls = Marching Chiefs", "And thats another Owl…First down = And thats another dolphin…first down", "Rowdy Rex's = Rowdy Reptiles (UF).  THIS MAYBE COINCIDENCE, but i just believe that we can come up with better stuff, thats original.  the only reason why I mentioned these, is that friends of mine have said something about it.  If we want to keep them, fine then we should, but by brainstorming we can come up with other options.

Re: Fan guide and traditions

One tradition that I have seen really catch popularity over the last year are the "owl fingers." Almost EVERYONE that was at the New Orleans bowl held up Owl Fingers during some point of the game. I even saw players holding up Owl fingers on the sideline during the opening kickoff. Owl fingers, at least last year, were popular at basketball games too.

I'm glad that this has caught on. Although it may not be as intimidating as the Gator chomp or the Seminole chop, how intimidating is the Hook 'em Horns hand sign?

I think this is definitely a tradition. Especially now when the band plays that one song and the owl fingers and held in the air and get waved in a circle - it's awesome.

I am a HUGE fan of the one hand owl finger circle wavy thing during kickoff.  I think it will look cool as hell if every catches on.

The one chant that seems to be consistent is -

FAU Goooooooooo OWLS!

Plus the band plays a riff with it. Maybe we can do the fingers then?

Its a good chant, and will sound cool if everyone does it.

the band should record all the cheers, fight songs, and music and put it on a website or a cd

We recorded a CD, but I have no idea if we will ever release or anything like that. I can't wait until we actually have it on the website, instead of the old one that recorded by the wind ensemble, where they actually say "Hoot-Hoot" in it. It's pretty lame. Maybe next semester we'll know if we are actually going to make the CD.

Thanks, Fasho.

We need to do Soulja Boy in the stands at least 3 times at home games. That thing looks sooo cool!
