FAU collecting comments as part of search for Brogan's replacement...

Florida Atlantic University’s search for a president to replace former FAU President Frank Brogan swung into high gear this week with a series of workshops seeking input from employees and community members at the university’s campuses.

The latest was Wednesday at the St. Lucie West campus.

Brogan, who left his position as Florida’s lieutenant governor about six years ago to take on the FAU presidency, began a new job as chancellor of Florida’s university system in September.

“We want to give all of the interested groups a chance to offer their views about the kind of president they’d like to see,” said consultant William Funk, whose firm R. William Funk & Associates was named to head a nationwide search.

“We’d hope to get between 20 and 40 applicants by the end of January, and they’d like to select someone by this spring and have them start in July.”
