I heard what happened was that the state and city awarded FAU the land for married student housing. They then turned to a Boca developer and said, "Here's the land, pay us rent." I think it nets FAU ~$1 million per year in rent. So I think FAU would have to put pressure on the developer, who would then put pressure on the businesses. And as much as I want FAU stuff everywhere in Boca, I don't think it would work in the restaurants. The others would be fine. There should also be banners on the streetlights in there but apparently that's either too expensive or too much work for FAU staff to get together.

I just don't get the feeling from FAU administration that they give a s*** about FAU stuff in Boca off-campus.

a lot of this has nothing to do with FAU not wanting to do stuff. Hanging banners on street lights, you can do that inside the school no problem but outside of the school the city of Boca has very strict regulations.

"Boca Raton has a strict development code, including the size and types of commercial buildings, building signs and advertisements which may be erected within the city limits. No car dealerships are allowed in the city limits, according to the city zoning code. Additionally, no billboards are permitted in the city. but i think they have to try that stuff if they don't try and advertise there school or get people excited for that school weather academically or for sports they are not doing there job as administraders

You can get a REAL FAU flag (not a banner) at FLAGCRAFT on North Dixie Hwy, just south of Glades road. They have 2 styles…I have 2 flag poles and fly them both!
They are around $32 and are quality flags!
