I love Carrot Top… he was a blast in the old Gold Coast Room when he was working on is act on amateur night.. Wish I had his $$$ (But I like my hair much better)

Actually this is part of the problem with funding.

We simply dont have any "high" profile wealthy alumni with the big bucks to help out the stadium. This is do in no large part to the relatively young age of the school, and the short length of time weve played NCAA Div 1 sports. In 10-15 years when the current batch of young alumni have "made" it in the world funding will not be as much of an issue. These alumni will have grown up with Sports as a large part of thier experience and be able to donate more and bigger.

Would Memphis have the beautiful FedEx Forum if the CEO wasnt an alumni and had his HQ in memphis?

FAU has no one of this caliber YET!

Yes and no.

Why do you think we have so many things related to Office Depot? Their CFO is an FAU Alumnus. If FAU didn't dip into that well so often, it wouldn't be that surprising to see a chunk donated from them to the stadium (actually, it would have been since I've heard they're not doing too well financially)

The CEO of Wackenhut is an FAU Alumnus too I think… but I don't think that's been much help to us so far. Wasn't their an alumnus related to Boeing as well? Maybe he wasn't high profile there…

FAU has prided itself on putting out nurses, teachers, accountants… all good things and great for the community but none of these people will really ever be in a position to donate millions to a stadium.

Maybe Smitty can go forward with his law school idea and bank like Willie Gary. Then FAU will have one of everything.

Aye, while we certainly have highly trained professionals in the workplace (Which is a testament to the education recieved at FAU) we really dont have anyone who has made the millions upon millions that could donate.

Somoene who created a company, made it huge, took it public and is now loaded enough to want thier name or thier companies name immortalized on campus involved in atheletics.
