FAU professor dead five years named in BP's disaster plan
Indeed, the giant petroleum firm listed Lutz as a consultant in its 2009 disaster response plan.
Alas, the former professor of marine biology at Florida Atlantic University died in February 2005.

Re: FAU professor dead five years named in BP's disaster plan
Even from 2,000 miles or so away, this native Floridian (sixth-generation) shudders at the tragedy in the Gulf and the utter ineptitude with which it has been dealt. It would seem to me that Secretary Salazar is a goner for sure because he is a prime candidate for designated scapegoat in an Administration that is noted for finger-pointing rather than truly accepting responsibility for much of anything.
At some point, I desperately hope, those in power must recognize that this is not a partisan political tragedy – it simply is an American tragedy. Can we not quit trying to blame others, then establish a clearcut line of authority to (1) stop the oil flowand (b) operate the clean-up and let the chips fall where they may?
I am so sick of pols, whatever their party affiliation, spending so much time p***ing on the opposing party and so little time on fixing the mess that threatens to envelop us. End of sermonette. Sorry for the rant. (BTW, we got 3 inches of snow overnight and this morning in Breckenridge, Colo., which sits at 9,600 feet. This could affect my mood, though not by much.)
