Scott Ellington, executive director of Florida Atlantic University's Research & Development Park, died on Tuesday morning after a long battle with cancer.

"He was just one of those rare individuals who had such a great spirit for his community," said Kelly Smallridge, president of the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County. "He was always such a go-getter."
