Frank Borgan Retires "Under Cloud"

Add topic

Post

Per the Sunshine State News, Frank Brogan had a "surprise" retirement move as Chancellor of Pennsylvania State University system recently, "coming as it did in the shadow of a consultant's report calling his agency 'plagued by weak leadership and dysfunctional management.'" The comments seem to contest that his retirement had anything to do with the report, however. His future plans are not announced.

Nice guy, always had great interactions with him. Best of luck to him in the future.

Terrible match, and should have never taken the job. This is what you run into when you try and govern against the "system" and unions.

Future plans came out quite well…

President Donald Trump has nominated the former chancellor of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education for the position of assistant secretary of education for elementary and secondary education.

In that position, Frank Brogan, 64, who retired from the helm of the State System on Sept. 1, would serve as the principal adviser to Trump's Education Secretary Betsy DeVos on all matters relating to elementary and secondary education. He now awaits confirmation by the U.S. Senate.
