I once asked Program Board why we couldn't try to get some bands who were famous but didn't mind playing smaller arenas (did you know they almost got Jimmy Eat World to play last year?) and they said the bands didn't want to come this far south into the state.

I go on the bands website and they're playing Miami. Didn't want to go that far south, eh?

I guess they don't want to come this far south for such a small venue?

I think the Barry Kaye where they normally have concerts is only 2600 seats.

Maybe I'm alone in this but despite its size, I think Barry Kaye is a pretty impressive place. Doesn't it seat 3500?

The problem with using Barry Kaye for a rock show is all those damn seats. When you go to a show, most people want to be on the floor/in the pit. They don't want to sit down.

Unfortunately, the Barry Kaye wasn't designed for that. And to retrofit it so you can take the seats in and out like a minivan is likely more trouble than its worth.

I asked about using the Burrow to host concerts, since it's essentially the perfect layout for it, and everyone keeps saying the echo is too bad. So what does UCF do with their Arena? They host bands there AND play basketball there.
