Next stop for Tri-Rail in Boca Raton

"The site, just south of Glades Road near Military Trail, has been penciled into the long-range plans of the Florida Department of Transportation, which has set aside $10 million in 2017 for the project. All Tri-Rail needs is to find a willing developer to work with the city of Boca Raton to pay the $8.5 million in required local funds to build the station.

…the city of Boca Raton can offset the cost of a new station by working with developers who are willing to build commercial or retail outlets at the new stop. The money generated from the fees, leases and taxes would help offset the need for a government grant or taxpayer appropriation."

Full story here.

How many of you guys ever used the Tri-Rail/shuttle route to attend FAU?

I never used the Tri-Rail but I did take the Palm Tran from Delray. Had to connect at the Boca Mall and then over to FAU. The buses ran every 40 minutes or so. It would take me about two hours to get 15 minutes home to Delray. But that's what you have to do when you don't have a car, I guess. I think the train runs more often than that but I don't know about the Tri-Rail -> FAU shuttle.

I took the shuttle from the tri-rail station after got off the train. Its not bad ride, but if you miss the bus during lunch hour you have to wait like a hour for the next one. that sucks during the summer.
